OR are AntiTheists afraid of Theists or afraid of God. And rather declare "I don't see God, so God does not exist" (ostrich practice)?

Terrified - they use Reason, Evidence, Facts - it is awful the lengths they go to

Anti-theists are among the most credulous and irrational groups around when it comes to religion, and also among the most resistant to Reason, Evidence, Facts regarding the numerous anti-religious myths they have swallowed. Fundies and anti-theists are like peas in a pod regarding their sacred myths.

You can almost guarantee they will be vocal advocates of the Conflict Thesis and Dark Ages myths for a start, along with those about the systematic destruction of ancient wisdom, etc.

99% of anti-theists accept these as fact, yet 99% of scholars consider them to be nonsense.

I'm in the mood to tell jokes, so I guess not. I tend to feel patronistic towards you all. Sorry about that. I just...feel like you're kind of overly optimistic...like Europeans. Europeans are always claiming that their system is superior, but it hasn't even been around for very long. They don't know if its stable or what. Is it sustainable?

Anti theists, to me, though I love you folks, really... I don't think you see the big picture like I do. I think I have the bigger picture.

You'd first have to provide some verifiable evidence that your god entity actually exists before I could put my head in the sand to ignore it.

Most of them here do, if you do not you are the positive outlier and I applaud thee :D

You have been known to promote the 80 million dead Hindu genocide myth though ;)

What's your estimate of the number of Hindus killed by Muslims in Islam's first 1000 years?

Scriptures give very clear instructions how to get your evidence. I need not give it to you, what is the fun in that? I like to do my own research.

We'll have to disagree that scriptures give very clear instructions for getting evidence. Every religion that I've ever studied has a faith component to it, and in my opinion faith is simply not a reliable path to truth.

No need to have Faith (according to Sanathana Dharma), just do the sadhana which is needed, and the results will come. With or without Faith.

No need to have Faith, but you get Grace when doing sadhana. They sound similar, but there is a big difference.

If you think you have a scripture that you think provides verifiable evidence of a god without the need for faith, I'd love to hear it.

There is absolutely no way of knowing as no one was aiming to recount the numbers with any degree of accuracy. It was probably pretty standard for the era though.

Muslim rulers could only rule as a minority via a network of Hindu clients, Hindus and Jains had roles in the imperial court and most deaths would have been in standard warfare for territory. Other than a few leaders, there was not a great deal of persecution, and other leaders are praised.

Moreover it makes about as much sense as taking a period in Europe from Charlemagne through the 30 years war trough Napoleon to WW1 and Hitler and calling it the 'Franco-Germanic genocide'.

Muslims were Persians, Mongols, Turks, etc, think simplifying Europe as just generic Christians.

The '80 million' comes from a single source from 1973 - KS Lal -Growth of Muslim population in medieval India.

It is not based on a critical analysis of historical sources, but based on 2 highly dubious population estimates, that in 1000 the population was 200 million, and in 1500 it had fallen to 100-125 million with an assumption that Muslims killed everyone else.

Needless to say, these estimates are not supported by contemporary scholarship (Demographics of India - Wikipedia), and were even mocked at the time of release (50 years ago):

Setting the electronic computer backwards produces a comically wrong result, that there were 10 Muslims in India in AD1241...

the unknown variables are so great and the quality of the data yielded by our sources so poor that almost any detailed general estimates of population based upon them must appear wilful, if not fantastic. At the time when this review was being written, E. J. Hobsbawm (in New Society, 11 July 1974, 76) called the attention of historians of pre- modern Europe, who dabble in social statistics based on sources of comparable quality to those of Lai, to an axiom of computer operators GIGO: Garbage in, garbage out.

Review of KS Lal - Growth of Muslim population in medieval India by Simon Digby in the Bulletin of the School or Oriental and African Studies
