A better world

I believe the only way the world will be a better place is for people to change from within. I don't believe getting rid of religion, ideology or even raising your children to respect all life is the answer.

I think people should teach their children to respect all life though.

Your mention ^ above^ about 'respect all life through' reminded me of a sign that a shop keeper had.
It read: We are Not here to see through one another, but to see one another through.

Yes, change from within, or put on the new righteous personality as outlined in Scripture.
Cultivate the fruitage of God's spirit as listed at Galatians 5:22-23.
To have the same self-sacrificing love for others as Jesus has and instructed others to have at John 13:34-35.

Apparently, the figurative humble ' sheep ' of Matthew 25:37 have changed from within to be receiving that favorable judgement.

What about aspects of religions or ideologies that teach us not to respect all life, for example some sects teach that practicing gays should be stoned or otherwise put to death?

I don’t think we need to abolish religions in their entirety, but certainly some teachings of some religions should be abolished

It's also important to teach the parents how to respect all life though. Usually it's parents that mess up the world, not children. Goes on for generations

Many children I see, are quite respectful here where I live:)

Does that include respect for the bubonic plague bacterium?

Also respect animals in general? So vegan is the way to go?
Also not eating vegetarian food, as there are life/bacteria too?

Preferably with Jesus250 included, I guess
(I mean every 8 years Jesus comes to RF:))

I am of course excluding obsolete versions and only counting those versions currently in circulation.

Wr once had Jesus stay with us for a month on a student exchange program. Nothing like how the book describes him

But as a good scientist I guess you don't trash the obsolete versions...probably you keep their skulls:)

In some cases its not possible, for example there are no copies of the first version of the bible.

So how can we tell if any of subsequent versions are accurately transcribed?

Fun fact - in animistic cultures where "person" means more than just human, recognizing non-humans as person did not lead to vegetarianism. Respecting non-human persons as persons and acknowledging them as ethical subjects doesn't mean you can't dislike, kill or harm that person. Rituals of animal sacrifice were, for the most part, about respecting the sacrifice of the person you kill in order to live. Certainly a lot more ethical than our mass slaughterhouses where modern folk don't know the faces of the creatures they consume, frankly.

Personally I respect animals I eat. With 7 billion people in the world that's probably why there's so many slaughter houses.

That has always been my thought also. As kids we did this "whispering in ear game". The story changed immensely. So, using my common sense, I know that the Bible and the Koran can not be error free (even errors are due to happen when "God" whispers in prophets ears, unless prophet is also "God"). The weakest (least pure) link determines the final outcome.

But maybe errors are meant to be in Scriptures, otherwise it would be too easy. Indian Saints declare "You are God". So, when perfect wisdom would be in the Scriptures, one would be less motivated to look within, to realize "I am That (God)".

But after 2000 year an update would not be too much of a luxury, as people still kill each other over the Bible. Would be really great if Jesus came to the earth to highlight all the errors in the Bible that slipped in (and correct them). And when Jesus updates to Bible2 then afterwards it will be quite error-free since we have digital backups:D (when they don't start with EMP or so)
