About two years ago there was a thread on the delicious black tomato. It seems that some people have never seen them and there are a few who think the whole idea is a joke...
They are available here right through the season along with several varieties of red tomato, orange ones, green ones, yellow ones, brown ones, stripy ones, even purple ones. What I have never seen until today is a white one.
A local bio producer delivers a couple of kilos of what is in season every week. On opening the pack tonight there were fresh dug potatoes, an aubergine, a couple of small bell peppers and a selection of different tomatoes. Mostly red, few yellow ones and... two white ones.
I thought there was perhaps something wrong so i Googled "white tomatoes", sure enough there they were...
Only two but nevertheless we will enjoy them with lunch tomorrow
