Have just found out I am close to having the onset to Type 2 diabetes :(

Because of genetic factors, my weight, and certain meds I'm on

Does anyone here have diabetes?

How do you cope?

How do you manage it?

Type ,2 as well.

I take metformin in pill form.

Best advice is watch what you eat and lose weight. It is possible to lose the diabetes if you do.

^this^^. some of my meds for other conditions make it difficult to lose weight, but it's been more than 20 years since I was first diagnosed, and the treatment has changed nary at all.

without diagnosis....I've been blood testing for quite some time

the occasional spike spooks me

so I am already cutting back on everything that carries added sugar
other items that turn into sugar
and soon I hope to stop drinking Coke

45grams a day is all you need

but just TRY to eat ONLY that much

good luck

I wouldn't have believed it if my doctor hadn't mentioned it. I started out with one thousand milligrams and it now has been whittled down to 500 mg of metformin.

Keep going in this direction, and I may end up to a healthy zero milligrams.

My wife has it, she's on metformin to manage her blood sugar. She is just over the diabetic threshold and we are hoping diet and exercise lessens the severity.

Don't eat carbs, eat a lot of meats and natural fats.

Basically, take your US RDA from 100% of carbs to 20% of what they say, and get rid of all the white flour, sugar, and corn syrup from your diet. No white rice, no grapes. That's about it, lol.

Did that, lost 100 pounds. I'm still diabetic, but you know win some lose some. Can't take diabetic meds because they crash me dangerously low. Weigh the same as I did when I was 18.
