Mr. Trump is calling it a "hoax", but almost no one else at any level of the Federal Government is. Certainly not the intelligence services.

Meanwhile, Mr. Trump has not expressed an interest in actually investigating the charges.

According to reports in the New York Times and NBC News, the same Russian unit responsible for poisonings in Britain and elsewhere, meddling in the 2016 American election and elections elsewhere, is also offering the Taliban the equivalent of $100,000 in Russian currency for the lives of American servicemen and women in Afghanistan.

Clearly Master Putin has ordered him to ignore the whole thing.

Consider the following. The U.S. is in armed conflict with a OpFor(Opposing Force)
Do you consider foreign countries or entities supplying arms to an OpFor as a "bounty"
Do you consider foreign countries or entities giving monetary assistance to a OpFor as a "bounty"
Do you consider foreign countries or entities paying a OpFor directly so that they will attract and maintain a OpFor as a "bounty"

So, you are saying Russia has gone to war against us? I agree. These bounties are -- or are close to -- acts of war.

Should we lie down and play dead as your great coward of a leader would have us do?

We've long had a cold war with Russia, & both sides enduring deaths & maimings.
Each supplies materiel & assistance to the other's foes.
Are we supposed to get all worked up over one of their tactics offending us?
Have any confirmed deaths resulted?

This seems feigned outrage to use against Trump.
There are far far better things to criticize, & offer as reasons to vote against him.
Just one is the war he started against Iran, & only at the last minute backed off.
Even now, he once again flirts with war against Venezuela & Iran.
But what do Trump's opponents care more about?
The bounty....the molehill de jour.
Not the risk of war.

I think it is a hoax. USA and Russia playing their power games. Just another conspiracy theory.

Another conspiracy idea: Russia brought Covid-19 to NewYork. Much cheaper and efficient way to kill. Or was it China who did it?:D

Who are you siding with; Trump or the Troops? Republicans or America?

If it is not a hoax, it is best to ignore it.
If it is a hoax, and I believe it is, the question is: qui bono?

1. The US is transferring tons of goods and money to Afghanistan. The Afghan government doesn't want to see the US go.
2. The US is transferring tons of money to the military-industrial complex, including the secret services. They don't want to see the US go.
3. The "Russia collusion" story has been very successful for the media. Rachel Maddow made a career out of this single topic.

The story about the bounties originates from the secret services. It has been confirmed by the Afghans. It is hyped by the media.

Anyone see any connections?

A lot of it has to do with the leftist controlled media exaggerating and fabricating reports which obviously has exasperated the issue in their typical fashion. Smoke and mirrors smoke and mirrors.

It really has a lot to do with Russian selling Small arms in Afghanistan to which when you look at the Taliban, there's no doubt it's not NATO weaponry they are employing.

Already the secretary of state has done some pushback on the issue and if the whacked-out left doesn't want to believe it so be it.

Pompeo pushes back on Russian bounty reports

We have been in a semi-war with the USSR/Russia since the end of WWII
What do you want him to do, launch a military strike against Russia? Sounds like it.

The president made the right call this time.

This news about Afghanistan is not good, and there is little comfort for those who are killed by such underhanded actions.

Russia has switched back to authoritarian government. That makes it a relatively unstable country, and it falls to the countries with superior forms of government to demonstrate their benefits. So far Russia isn't doing anything that our country hasn't already done. We backed militias in Afghanistan against the Soviets. Therefore the president's choice is the correct one. We shouldn't accuse Russia over this behavior through our diplomatic channels, not for several decades. Overall we are more interested in cooperating with Russia than in bossing Russia around. Russia is competitive but not hateful of America. She doesn't hate America's ideals of freedom like the Soviets did. This is why we have made an effort to restore ties with Russia and will do so again.

I still think Putin wants to bring back the old authoritarian regime and revive the Soviet Union back to its former glory as a new version of the USSR.
