Does the vast majority of the people who follow a certain religion support the death of gay people in their countries that have laws for the death of gay people as punishment? What about the countries who still criminalize it but don't use the death penalty? Do they support that? I can't even believe I'm asking this question. I'm not really familiar with other religions in far away countries.

Indian law gives extensive support to LGBTQ including "Strong Affirmative Action". You have to read about that. Reservation in education, jobs, financial help, and strong deterrent for those who mistreat them. Though they are not yet eligible for Armed forces.

So, there is still some discrimination to work on
That might take a few extra years maybe
They do have women in the army

Yeah, we have some more distance to go. But what progress has been made is not insignificant. Yes, progress in a country like India, with poor education and superstitious public is going to take time. Personal accounts may vary. Yeah, we have women in Army and their no bar to their reaching highest positions. LGBTQ do not yet have the right to marry but they can live together. For more details, please read this: LGBT rights in India - Wikipedia

On 27 August 1976, Gertrude Alice Ram, the military nursing service Matron-in-Chief, became the first woman officer in the Indian Army to attain the rank of Major-general.
In February 2020 Madhuri Kanitkar became the third woman to become a Lieutenant General in the Indian Army (Three-stars).

Surrogacy is an altogether different thing. The government does not want that the poor women in India may be used as machine by Indians or foreigners.

I never googled surrogacy before. Unbelievable, Big Business. Agencies asking up to 159500 US dollars
Would be more Dharmic to let people arrange it themselves, so the woman can get a fair amount (50000 US$ or so)

What do you think, could surrogacy be done in a Dharmic way? Or is it per definition Adharmic according to Hinduism?

I believe the Indian government has instituted the correct 'dharmic law' :) about surrogacy. You have lived in India. You must realize that the big money goes to the agents and arrangers. The women gets a pittance. Same with Organ sellers. The poor doner gets Rs. 25,000 for a kidney and the agent and his collaborators get a million.
