Black lives matter co-founder says they are trained Marxists.

BLM founder says they are "trained Marxist"

Out of the horse's mouth it seems and if it is true, I am no longer in support of Black Lives Matter. From what I understand this isn't speculation, she is purported to actually have said it herself. When you really look at it, there is an uncanny resemblance with Marxist revolutions and what Black Lives Matter is doing now.

I even checked with the Communist party website and here is the link regarding black lives matter...

Black Lives Matter Co-Founder in 2015: ‘We Are Trained Marxists’ | News Break

I have yet to see it in mainstream news such as Reuters or major networks. Whether they will or not I don't know. Time will tell if these stories surface in mainstream media.

Before I jump to conclusions however, I'm going to give people an opportunity to explain this in the spirit of fairness.

Is Black Lives Matter a Marxist organization? Is it a Marxist movement?

How do you explain the comments attributed to be made by Patrice Cullors?

The leaders who think that way might not fully represent the followers.

Is Marxism bad? I'd imagine some would think this is all great. Progress towards the Marxist society of the future.

I think you might end up having to prove the problem with Marxism.

You are aware that marxism isn't just a political movement it's also a form a critical theory in social science? I'm also "a trained maxist" since I have studied marxist critical theory of class struggle.

When has marxism turned out well?

I'm not trying to defend it, but I would like to understand its appeal or lack of appeal.

Supposed to be a natural economic progression caused by class struggle. In which case I would assume the correct phrase to be proletariat lives matter.

So it has one member that's a Marxist, good for her, better that than a fascist, like some people I kinow
I don't think I would consider her exactly a member as if she's simply one person within a crowd who pays their monthly dues, she's actually a co-founder, which is pretty significant if you ask me which puts the bar considerably higher than just being a member.

I'm actually curious as to what's going on here as well as about the true motivations of Black Lives Matter?

From all appearances this seems to have been suppressed information until a video surfaced, which started all this.

So If you look at the political compass result page that was stickied in this forum area, you will see that most left wingers here are well into the green zone. What that means, is that they value individual liberties. A leftist up in the red zone, puts the state above that. Now I have variously almost tested into that zone - but I do not enter it completely, as I still give the concept of the individual some degree of value. Do you understand how the political compass works?

Considering what went on in this country over the last several years, like the Sanders and Trump campaigns,

I cannot worry about creeping Marxism. Creeping Fascism is definitely a worry.

Don't worry about marxism....until it arrives.
If you dislike Trump, you'll love Stalin.

They’re well versed in critical theory or “Marxism.” So what? So is like every sociology teacher/professor out there.
And considering Marxists don’t seem to like structured hierarchies I’m not surprised some members might favour that particular theory.

But I doubt that every single member in the BLM movement are reflected by this person’s stance.

Though in all honesty the most I know about Marxist theory is “the workers own the means of production” lol

What the hell is a "trained Marxist?" We dont have certified, training, school curriculum or anything like that. Now, with those, they are horribly biased and don't seem to know much about Marxism. Such as how Marxism isn't inhere repressive of Christianity, and Engels felt such being too harsh against would preserve it, spread it, and will only work against the goals of a society without religion.

I'm none too thrilled with these online political compass quiz thingys. Socialism as an ideology/s is not the equivalent of state control.

I have a t-shirt with Marx on, does that count for anything? :p

If an individual libertarian happens to be a vegetarian, does that make vegetarianism itself libertarian? Or is libertarianism vegetarian?
