The height of the Jazz Age was arguably the 1920s and 1930s Prohibition era. Jazz originated in the US South, but the height of its popularity also coincided with the Harlem Renaissance, and a lot of New York clubs would play Jazz during that era.

The Jitterbug was a dance associated with late 1920s/early 1930s Swing and 1930s Black music.

Rock'n'Roll originated in Rhythm'n'Blues music popular in Black American communities, but only attained mainstream popularity in the 1950s, if I remember correctly.

Pin-ups started to be published in "Men's Magazines" in the early 1930s, but continued to be popular well into the 1950s, up until the time "Men's Magazines" depicting toplessness or full nudity became mainstream (which I suppose would be around the late 1960s?).

I thought Chicago was the home of jazz? I thought it was huge in Chicago ?

I've only been to NYC, Philadelphia and DC: what's the cultural differences between NYC and Chicago as I thought both were built on Italian and Irish immigrants ?
