Fortunately a president as he has thoroughly demonstrated he just doesn't have the ambition, intelligence, or support to be a dictator. And it seems possible the excuses of desperation are finally starting to break his support. In two months the economy still won't be doing that good, covid will still be rampaging, people will still be dying, and as of now it looks like people are fed up with Trump, and are especially angered by his mentions of "military domination" against protestors and persistent divisiveness, instead of the traditional approach of trying to heal the nation. Big name Republicans are abandoning him, and even Bush Jr. is supporting Biden.
With many Republicans abandoning that ship, the women vote looking to turn against Trump, and the latest bouts of racist police and protests might throw Trump's chances this time around. Especially if mail-in voting surges and more states do what California is and mailing a ballot to all registered voters.
With the election only a few months out now, at this moment I'm leaning towards Biden winning. The BLM protesting at this time, it may very well become Trump's version of Hillary's email, especially as there is no shortage of white cops killing black men in this country. It happens late October/early November and Trump is done.

I always thought of it more as a kind chaotic, nihilistic mobsterism. They're not disciplined, organized, or spartan enough to be considered fascists. Our political culture is completely devoid of any principles, other than "he who dies with the most toys wins."
