What if Jesus comes tomorrow?

In Catholicism - given our Augustinian amillenialism - the Second Coming of Christ is synonymous for us with the final judgement, the dissolution of the universe and the creation of a "new heaven and earth" (i.e. the "life of the world to come" referred to in the Nicene Creed)....................................

I agree there will be a ' final judgement ' at the soon coming ' time of separation ' on Earth as found at Matthew 25:31-33,37,40.
A favorable judgement on Earth for the figurative humble ' sheep' but an adverse judgement for the figurative haughty ' goats' .
Since the Earth abides forever - Ecclesiastes 1:4 B; Psalms 96:10; Psalms 104:5; 1 Chronicles 16:30; Isaiah 45:18 - there is No expiration date for Earth.
The ' NEW Heavens and Earth ' is in connection to a NEW heavenly government or kingdom over Earth for a thousand years.
The NEW Earth is Not a new planet but NEW in the sense that the Earth remains forever will become as described in Isaiah 35th chapter.

He'd condemn all the rich, the exploiters, the nationalists, the supporters of the military.
He'd take all the Hippies to Heaven.

Only if Jesus is non-White. I mean nobody is going to listen to a White man of privilege.

Priviledge doesnt have anything at all but the little allowance it has. Jesus isnt privileged he is blessed.

Here's a thought experiment:

OK, so imagine tomorrow Jesus Christ comes down to Earth, from Heaven, thus bringing about his second coming:

I was wondering, what may happen once he shows up? But before he actually does or says anything?

So, once he appears and makes himself known, but before he says or does anything:

1) How would this event be covered by the media?

2) Would anything drastic happen, economically?

3) What would the political establishment do? What would world leaders have to say?

4) What would happen on the Internet?

5) Would there be civil disturbances of some kind? Or mass celebrations?

6) What would the Atheists do? (Assuming there would be obvious miracles being performed that they would be able to observe)

7) How would adherents to religions other than Christianity react? (Bearing in mind he hasn't yet said anything...)

8) Would it all of a sudden somehow make the world a better place? Or would it make the world a more dangerous and unstable place? What do you think?
How would the Second Coming differ from an invasion?

Isn't the idea that the entirety of humanity will now have one norm imposed on them?

And that norm will be a dictatorship, an absolute autarchy?

And if the dead are to be raised (or reassembled from their scattered atoms, or however that works) how will the housing problem be tackled? Who's going to pay for it?

Since I rather prefer democracy, if you want to get in touch, I'll be up in the hills with my band of outlaws.

The world carries on as it usually does, except for the few who were waiting and who were ready. They accept the Message and begin to share it.

1) How would this event be covered by the media?

They usually start reporting the amazing transformation of the people around the New Messenger.

2) Would anything drastic happen, economically?

The Messenger comes because people have become corrupt and materialistic, the economy will eventually crash and a new way will begin.

3) What would the political establishment do? What would world leaders have to say?

They reject the message as they fear they will loose power and wealth and then start killing the Messenger and all the new followers.

4) What would happen on the Internet?

It would only be possible to have the internet because of the new message given.

5) Would there be civil disturbances of some kind? Or mass celebrations?

Civil disturbances, as people find it hard to accept the needed change.

6) What would the Atheists do? (Assuming there would be obvious miracles being performed that they would be able to observe)

They would carry on as normal. a few may decide to change.

7) How would adherents to religions other than Christianity react? (Bearing in mind he hasn't yet said anything...)

The vast Majority would also reject the New Message

8) Would it all of a sudden somehow make the world a better place? Or would it make the world a more dangerous and unstable place? What do you think?

It will give the foundation to make the world a better place, but a rapid decline would set in before and event that shakes the limbs of mankind will waken them for a strange sleep.

IMHO, that is how it has happened, starting in 1844.

Yes &

Everything has to breathe, contraction and expansion. xx

If you are referring to the "Big Crunch" theory of the universe, where it expands
and contracts, then forget it. The universe had a beginning and it will have an
end - we don't know if it's going to be the Big Rip (space tears apart) or the Big
Freeze (where all the stars die.)
Whatever - just remember one thing: The universe did not create itself when it
did not exist.

According to the media, they are non-White.

It would be a shame to Martin Luther King to see people talk like this.
Skin color is back - brought back by African Americans and those who
support them.
I think there's going to be more skin hate now than there was before.

As we know a thief comes by surprise without notice, this is why we do not know the day or the hour.
I find the ' heavens ' mentioned are ' governmental heavens ' and Not the literal heavens where the birds fly or outer space.
At 2 Peter 3:5 we find the ' heavens' or OLD meaning the heavens of Noah's day.
At 2 Peter 3:7 we find the ' heavens ' of NOW meaning from Noah's day down to our day.
At 2 Peter 3:13 we find the ' NEW ' heavens ' or the new governing of Christ over Earth for a thousand years.
Since the Bible teaches Earth abides forever - Ecclesiastes 1:4 then it is Not the planet burned up or dissolved but the corrupted governmental heavenly bodies.
The governmental heavens now under demonic influence - Ephesians 2:2; Revelation 12:12,9.
That is what will be exposed. The wicked exposed as per Malachi 4. The wicked destroyed forever as per Psalms 92:7.
The executional words from Jesus' mouth will rid the forever Earth of wickedness - Isaiah 11:3-4; Revelation 19:14-16.
So, since we are all invited to pray the invitation of Rev. 22:20 for Jesus to come we are Not praying for the dissolution of the Universe or Earth.
But praying that humble meek people inherit the Earth as promised at Psalms 37:9-11.
Praying for the ' healing ' of earth's nations as promised at Revelation 22:2.
if people would just read and study the bible . its free and there are people ready and willing to give of there time just so that it can be understood

If he gets in the way of anyone's profit-making ability, or power over others, they'll take him down faster than grass through a goose!
They'll brand him as part of a made up terrorist group, like Antifa, and seek to have him taken out. That Jesus just can't seem to get away from that whole getting crucified thing. He's always been a bit of a radical lefty. ;)

All these answers and more are in the New Testament.

Well, for one I think the Mega Churches and Televangelists would have to answer for why they used Jesus as a money-making scheme.

I was wondering, what may happen once he shows up?...

It will be like this:

For as the lightning comes forth from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Matt. 24:27

The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and those who do iniquity, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Matt. 13:41-43

It will be very visible to all and no more fake news. :)
