Are You One Of The 33-50 Million That Are Not Very Good?

Seems that Biden thinks 33-50 million Americans are not very good.
Wonder who he is talking about...looters, non-Democrat voters, protesters, conservatories, leftest, anyone that disagrees with him, or just people in general?
Biden says 10 to 15 percent of Americans are 'not very good people'

In all honesty I'm not very concerned about poor Joe, he is struggling and as we all know he can't articulate his thoughts very well.

It's brilliant politicking.
Everyone can assume he's criticizing someone else.

Why would Biden want to appeal to the deplorable anyways? He doesn't need their vote to win. The nationwide protests are against those people too.

I think Biden might stumble around with his words, and I don't really like him, but I don't even care at this point. The country is on fire. The president apparently cleared out people to do a photo op. Biden might stumble around a bit with words, but his words really aren't dripping with narcissism. He looks like he'd bring people together more, which is obviously what we need. And you know what, none of us are 'good.' Where did the humility go in north america's take on western culture. We always have to be the 'greatest,' or 'better than before.' I was looking at the images of the presidents from over a hundred years ago. They have pensive visages. They look like they mulled about human nature. That's more toward what we need, not all this fantasy optimism

What I found interesting is that previous to his statement he said "What a president says is important" - I believe that statement was in context of not creating division... and then he marginalized people?

I should think he's not far off the mark in estimating the proportion of US citizens that harbour racist impulses, which I understand was the context in which he made the remark. In fact I suspect it is an underestimate.

I've no doubt, though, that there will be people - possibly among the "not very good" ones - who will lift this remark out of its context and puff themselves up into a synthetic rage, over a supposed insult to the Great American Public who, as we know, can do no wrong. :D

P.S. How's this for clear articulation of thoughts? :-

" So I asked Bill a question some of you are thinking of if you're into that world, which I find to be pretty interesting. So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous, whether its ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said, that hasn't been checked but you're gonna test it. And then I said, supposing it brought the light inside the body, which you can either do either through the skin or some other way, and I think you said you're gonna test that too, sounds interesting. And I then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute, and is there a way you can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs, and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it'd be interesting to check that. So you're going to have to use medical doctors, but it sounds interesting to me, so we'll see. But the whole concept of the light, the way it goes in one minute, that's pretty powerful."

I don't accept Joe Biden as a moral authority or as a judge of good and evil.

Wonder who he is talking about...

Probably President Trump's base. Those of us who aren't 'woke' and who don't march in lock-step to whatever the latest highly moralized hysteria foisted on us by the media might be this time.

Now is the time when people pretend to be upset because a politician said something that is clearly true.

Because "deplorables" are still American citizens with the same needs as anyone else; jobs, healthcare, education. And you highlight the very problem with politicians, that they don't "need" those people to "win" so screw them. Which is why people say "screw the Republicans and screw the Democrats". And when they lose they have the gall to blame them for not coming out to vote. Its turned into "how do I win" rather than "how do I help people". It's arrogance at the highest level.

Screw demented Biden. He's told voters time and time again to vote for someone else, so people are taking him up on it.

Nothing to worry about Trump is messing up so bad Ronald McDonald could win.

Correct, they are low educated citizens who don't know the difference between truth and lies.

I say screw them too. They're not needed. They're replaceable. There's nothing you can say to these people to change their minds. They're gone.

The only people who say that are disgruntled low information voters who don't understand what a false equivalency is. Stating that Republicans and Democrats are the same is a false equivalency. It's capitalism vs American workers. The people who make these silly arguments usually get their information from social media.

Biden is clearly in the lead and the frontrunner. He has secured the nomination and polls are increasing that lead. Go watch Fox, stay under-informed.

I haven't watch Fox in years lol.

I know Biden secured the nomination. Don't worry, your guy Biden looks like he will win the White House. I will not deny that. So in 2021 you will be able to take your victory lap.

But I can't help but notice how you somehow look at certain people as disposable. Ready to leave them behind because...well, who knows actually (team politics maybe?). This is why people take to the streets. Because they are seen as disposable. This is why more people identify as Independent than either Republican or Democrat. Because they see that both sides are willing to leave a certain demographic behind. This is why people are politically apathetic.

Desperation leads to radicalization. And Trump was that radical risk desperate people were willing to take. Because people were sick of the status quo. The status quo left them behind, the status quo looked at them as replaceable. The status quo is what created extreme capitalism. The status quo is what lead to a guy like Trump in the first place.

After Biden wins, and he most likely will, nothing will fundamentally change (his words). The rich will continue to get richer, the poor will continue to get even more poor, police will continue to terrorize the streets, the wars will continue...

But hey, the victory lap will be sweet!

Compared to Trump? o_O:rolleyes::eek:;)

Kilmeade: This is the one stat I’m going to bring you to, and I’m going to ask you if could attack this. According to a Axios-Ipsos poll, 70 percent of white Americans say they trust the local police. Only 36 percent of African Americans do. How do you attack that problem? How do you change things?

Trump: Well I think it’s a very sad problem. As you know, as a Republican I’m doing very well with African Americans and with the vote with the — in polls and everything — especially, I mean, I haven’t seen one very recently because you had the plague come in from China.

So that changed things up, but we had the best economy ever. We had the best numbers for African-American on employment and unemployment in history. Best homeownership — best everything. We had the best numbers in everything — not only African-American, but the African-American numbers were great.

Hayes paused his reading of the transcript to note that Kilmeade recognized that Trump “had lost the plot entirely” and attempted to right the president’s course.

Kilmeade: How do you handle the law enforcement part?

Trump: Well, I think you have to get better.

Kilmeade: How do you handle the law enforcement part of this?

Trump: They have to get better than what they’ve been doing. I mean obviously that was a terrible thing. And I’ve spoken about it numerous times in various speeches. And what’s interesting is I spoke about it when we launched a very successful rocket — a tremendous program that culminated on that day and obviously it goes on from there.

But I then made a speech and it was a speech about the rocket, and I devoted 25 percent of the speech probably to what happened — or more — to what happened with respect to George — George Floyd, and it was — and then you listen to this, he doesn’t talk about George Floyd. The rocket went off, I then I made a speech, and I talked about George Floyd, but they said he didn’t talk about George Floyd.

Half — maybe even almost half of the speech, but a large portion of the speech was devoted exactly to that. And so, you know, with — with the media you basically — and basically no matter what you do, it’s never going to be good enough. But the people understand it.
