I've been using an ad blocker to use RF because I only use my phone for everything and when ads come up it makes my screen jump around. However, I didn't realize this means less revenue for the forum? Is this correct because I don't want that to happen. Today I opened with regular Google search so the ads are showing. Is that better for the forum? Also, I can't seem to find where I could pay the forum not to see ads. Is that possible and where and how do I do that if I choose to? Thank you.
I believe if you hover over your username at the top it's under 'Account Upgrades.'

Why do I get post saying I don't have sufficient privileges to post to a particular forum?

Go to your profile and select up to three DIRs you would like to use. For reference, unless you identify with the religion of the DIR you may only ask questions. For questions for people in DIRs to which you are not subscribed, use the interfaith Q&A forum.
I see I asked this question again. But I did not understand this answer. I wanted to reply recently to a post but was told I do not have sufficient privileges to do so. Still can't figure out what I need to do.

Click your username top right.

Go to personal details.

Scroll down and check the DIRs you want. 3 maximum.

Done.

What about a post length warning?

So that we do not have to wait until the site says the post is to long in order to know the post is to long?

Hey, I’ve been here a short while and love the forum! Just curious: Does one have to meet some requirements to create a new discussion topic?

If you are in an open forum, no. Just click on "Post new Thread" when looking at a Forum.

In a DIR, you need to select that DIR as in post #507 before you can post. It may take an hour or so for the server to update. Also, limit your DIR selections to three.

Thanks! So, I see the issue is I’m viewing the site on my phone, and the button isn’t visible. It is visible on my laptop.

Hello. Let's see if I understand this correctly. Any forum that is not in a category with DIR is eligible to start a topic?

Yes. It may be *off topic*, but that is a slightly different matter.

You can start a new thread at any time and under any forum except a DIR you not part of. If you have selected the DIR, you can post there as well.

Now, the forums are divided into a number of overall topics, so you should put any new post in a relevant topic. Also, make sure you don't encourage debate in a discussion forum.

Hi Debatar Slayer.

I'm interested in Gematria and Isopsephy.

Is there a sub forum on those subjects?
