No, not really, though I would touch this a little bit, but Ancient Hebrews and Romans did not have quite the same views on sexuality though they were closer to one another than they are from us.

That's, indeed, completely false since prohibition against male homosexuality predates contact between Hebrews and Romans by a wide margin. Paul was just supporting a longstanding Hebrew view on sexuality to a Greek and Roman audience.

I don't know about pedophilia but homosexuality was rife, it was a status thing to be the dominant male in a gay relationship.

In Rome and most of Greece, it was illegal, or at the very least extremely inappropriate, to have homosexual relationship with a free man. Homosexual relationship were between slaves and masters (because slaves are things not people) and between boys and men. Note that boy might still imply an adult at that point, but the "submissive" partner needed to be unmarried and have a master-apprentice relationship with the "dominant" partner. Note that neither the Roman or the Ancient Hebrews ever considered the concept of "power bottom".

It's not about homosexual sex. It's about sexual promiscuity. When you "mess around" with others-like many religions, the idea of lust of the body is sin or immoral. Essentially it turns a person away from their goal (Say enlightenment in the Dharma) to something else. Generalizing. That's the reason why people become monks or nuns etc and don't have sex. The act and experience of it to many of faith pulls one towards the body, ego, or Self and in christianity case away from god. Lust turns people away. God religions say the opposite.

As for specifically same-sex sex, that's the people's bias and prejudice. It has nothing to do with the bible. The context of the bible is about lust and bad actions: rape, same-sex sex (since they say it's unnatural; unnatural=man), abuse, and the like. It's not related to the actual definition and usage of the term so trying to define and judge it based on today's terms would be inappropriate.

It doesn't mean I agree with their point of view. Though, that's the reason why many dislike the action. It's not personal.

Homosexuals have always been a minority, about 10%. So, primitive cultures have always regarded them with suspicion. People who believe in God and religion don't understand how God can allow strange things like that. The reason is because God doesn't care whether some people are gay or not. When the primitive humans wrote down their beliefs they wrote that their beliefs were backed by God.

Jesus said nothing directly about it but He did say that we should treat everyone as we would like to be treated and He actually gave us a commandment that we should love one another. Christians that teach the Old Testament are not teaching Christianity.

How come atheists say the bible is not proof of God but then they use the bible as proof of God?

Might it be better to provide more variety, and instead ask why God would be in the slightest interested in a whole lot (mininum 613 ) things we humans get up to? Like what we plant in our fields, or what materials we make our clothes out of, or which perfectly delicious (and nutritious) foods we eat and which we don't?

Actually, now that I think about it...that would make for a rather unwieldy thread, wouldn't it?

I have a pretty good idea, although it's not important to keep count. Thing is, like a good play, there's pretty much a different audience every season.
