OK, I will kick this off - hopefully we can get an idea as to what people like the most in any particular genre. Not too strict since time-zones are involved. :D

Its' FOLK today (Wednesday 13th May) - and I'm glad I just found these two saucy albums (which I have) - well worth a listen I would propose.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Devendra Banhart although not typically regarded as a folk singer exclusively, definitely made some really awesome songs that fit the folk genre beautifully with deep philosophical undertones.

I'm not one to smack anyone for sticking stuff in the wrong genre, even if I knew such. :D

I was kind of thinking of posting some folk stuff I did, but I have to rework it.. I'm working on some american folk song variants that apparently no one uploaded to youtube yet.. it's from a sizable book from the beginning of the last century... it seems like it's important that I try to get it right.. a very frustrating and time consuming project, but potentially rewarding, as I would actually make history on some level just by recording the catalog.. I have all the instruments I'd need though, both real and virtual.. and the recording software.. It's just a matter of turning my life into a serious workhorse.. basically I should cease doing everything else in my free time and just do that.. At some point here soon, I have to just plunge into it.. I've been delaying too long, but I have some sense that it will be a gargantuan amount of work
