This questionnaire is important to me: I am gathering member feedback to help me make better policy decisions. Please help out by responding to it.

Please pick which one of these three options is closest to your views. If you do not see an option that suits you, please accept this poll was not designed for you, and move on.

OPTION ONE: The Forum has been getting better over the past six months.

OPTION TWO: The Forum has been about the same over the past six months.

OPTION THREE: The Forum has gotten worse over the past six months.

Option 1 for me.

But it may just be like everything else - it's all in the eye of the beholder.

When I am mindful nothing much bothers me at all. The experience is very different if/when I am un-mindful.

Hope that makes sense!

Cheers!

I think overall things are better. I think the people as individuals have grown. A possible indication of this is that I'm seeing larger words and better terminology being used in the debates, which if anything shows that a little thought did go into some posts, and I'm also seeing less threads of a sort of nature where they are about group A or B's appearance and how attractive you find them, done on the public forum. I know I've made a few of those threads before, some were pretty okay I guess, but I've moved more with the forum in growing in some ways if what I see, and my speculations, are correct.

Same-same, but different.
As much as particular events have caused some unhelpful binary political thinking, I also think events help remind some here about what's important.

So some people and topics are possibly worse, but it's overall about a wash, I think.

I kind of see the political forum as the worst culprit. That being said, in the poll pretty long ago where we were asked whether to keep the political forum, most wanted to keep it. But, here's my further assessment, without disagreeing with their decision per se:

Religion and politics can both be hot topics. However with religion, many people love things about their religion, and when they don't love religion, they can focus on feelings of friendliness and wishing well to the person in the discussion, still.

But when we talk politics now, there's really not much mutual agreement to be made, only, at the very best, talking what person may screw things up further the least, or talking what would be the least of a disaster.

The forum has got better since I rejoined. I think that says something. :p

OK, I actually voted for 2. What worsened in the UK and US at least (regarding politics) happened (or became apparent) more than 6 months ago. Maybe they (Trump and Brexit) are "merely" symptoms is another matter; but what that is, isn't what this OP is about.

You just need to talk to me more. Eminently reasonable. And humble.

Forum's are a reflection of the members.
I think it's important to be discretionary about posting. You get out of it what you put into it. If I aim to answer incendiary comments all I'm going to do is get enraged.

If I stick to the thoughtful comments, and I don't just throw bull out there it's a better ride.

Strong negativity is not for the faint of heart. Nonetheless I'd rather hear out the civil responses of honest grievances.

So it all depends on the better you are trying to make.

A feel good, good time with light hearted laughs. Or an honest reflection of how people really are going to be. I opt for the latter.

Hopefully it can be both.

Kind of confused by the reply. :D

But maybe, my talking in general about when people talk politics, might have sounded like I was talking about me and you talking politics (something which we haven't done).

Nah, I was just joking. Or being a big-head, depending on how charitable you are

My point was we should talk politics more, since I'm clearly the easiest, most reasonable and most humble person here.

Most charming, too, but I'm not going to mention that in case I sound like I'm bragging.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
By better or worse, it is it in regards to the attitude of the forum, or is it about ease of navigation, using search engines etc?

Side note: I almost did not see this thread because of where I live and lively thread additions by others. There should be a "new threads in past 24 hours" or some such.

I voted the same - I've not seen any significant change.

.

I voted that it's gotten worse because we've lost all ability to access old posts. Had we retained it or gotten it back I would have voted:
The Forum has stayed the same over the past six months.

It is more complicated now, but you can get to them...

I would assume the OP is referring to the general forum atmosphere.
But you might want to get verification of that.
