As they say, they are hardly following their religion, they are blasphemers. How can one be Christian if one does not believe that Jesus was the anointed son of God? Or how can one be Muslim if one were to believe that Jesus was the anointed son of Allah?

What does that have to do with whether people will go to hell for having wrong beliefs?

There are so many types of prayers but I never forget that Jesus promoted prayer so it must be important1 :)
Agreed.

One type of prayer that often gets neglected that was traditional in the early Church and early Judaism is what is often called "meditative prayer", whereas it's less words and more "listening". This is what I use most often.

I have a dear friend.. Jewish by the last name "Cohen". Met him face to face in Ft Worth, Texas after developing a friendship on a forum.. Beautiful couple!
Is his first name "Howard", and he speaks to churches throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area??? If so, he and I got so close in the past that we invited each other to our respective homes. Unfortunately, once they shut down Beliefnet, we gradually drifted apart. Bright guy!

It must be beautiful.. I have two son-in-laws from England... and what BEAUTIFUL gardens they have!
It definitely attracts attention, for better or worse.

That is beautiful.. reminds me of Joshua 1:8.

I am reminded that Jesus did say "Ask and you shall receive"... Even though He knows our needs, asking in faith is still a process that He wants us to go through.

And then again, "And when you pray, forgive"... Mark 11:25 - it is an important part of a spiritual life.

YES! Howard Cohen... Bright guy - I still send him an email now and then. And met him through Beliefnet too. We had a breakfast together.

Beautiful, and I agree.

I think I went under the same or similar name at Beliefnet, but either way the next time you talk with him, mention this strange guy who invited him up to da U.P., eh?

When we first met, he & I really got "into it" at times, especially over his v my perception of Jesus vis-a-vis whether he was compatible with normative Judaism. Howie said he was and I said he wasn't. Neither of us could really prove our point one way or the other because neither of us believes in biblical inerrancy, therefore it's pretty much impossible today to determine how much of what Jesus supposedly said was accurately recorded. We went round and round over that for months.

But as time went on, we gained enough respect for each other to become friends, and we used to e-mail each other quite often. In terms of the people over the decades that I personally know, I believe he's probably the brightest on understanding the intricacies of the scriptures more than any other person I've ever met. To me, he's like a walking/talking encyclopedia on the early Church.

Anyhow, tell him I said "Hi!", and that I hope he and his family are doing well.

And thanks for this, my friend!

That's simply untrue, as evidenced by the many followers of Abrahamic traditions
Traditions vs religion - there may be a difference
Ask any of the strict Bible or Qu'ran or even Kitab-i-Iqdas followers (those that follow it by the book) - they will be quick to tell you that "their" was is the only way and that others are either wrong or under the influence of Satan or the Devil or some such nonsense.

Being married for 53 years now, I'm at used to being harassed! :(
Nice age! You sound like Socrates:

Antisthenes: ". . . why don't you train Xanthippe instead of having a wife who is of all living women - and I believe of all that ever have been or will be - the most difficult to get on with?"

Socrates: "Because I notice that people who want to become good horsemen keep not the most docile horses but ones that are high-spirited, because they think that they can control these, they will easily manage any other horses. In the same way, since I wish to deal and associate with people, I have provided myself with this wife, because I'm quite sure that, if I can put up with her, I shall find it easy to get on with any other human being."

Just one question: Who slained him then?

If one wants to be funny... it was a good one.

If one wants to dig deeper, a person is voluntarily "slain", is slain when he made the irrevocable decision in his heart.
