NASA - Scientists Confirm Historic Massive Flood in Climate Change

" Scientists from NASA and Columbia University, New York, have used computer modeling to successfully reproduce an abrupt climate change that took place 8,200 years ago. At that time, the beginning of the current warm period, climate changes were caused by a massive flood of freshwater into the North Atlantic Ocean."

[029:014] And verily we sent Noah (as Our messenger) unto his folk, and he continued with them for a thousand years save fifty years; and the flood engulfed them, for they were wrong-doers.

It has long been known that flood stories are widespread all over the world, with stories of the flood in some ancient Near Eastern communities, india, Burma, China, Malays, Australia and the Pacific Islands, and in all Indian communities.
The most important of these stories is the story of the Sumerian flood, the story of the Babylonian flood, and the story of the Jewish flood as told by the Torah, and despite the distortion of these stories, it is agreed that there was a great flood and that there was a good man who built the ark and carried in it from every animal a couple in addition to his family and those who followed him who believe in God

It seems highly unlikely that the Middle Eastern people that created the Epic of Gilgamesh and the related story of Noah's Flood would have known about the drainage of glacial lakes in N. America.

This is the Islamic DIR. If you don't identify as Muslim, you should only post polite questions.

10. Debating in Non-debate Forums or Posting in DIR/ONLY Forums
Religious forums is structured to provide spaces for many different kinds of conversations. Different kinds of conversations belong in different areas of the forum:

1) Debates should be kept to the debate areas of the forums, including Religious Debates, General Debates, and Political Debates. Debating anywhere other than these forums may result in moderation. Same Faith Debates is governed by special rules described here. Only members of the specified groups(s) can participate in these threads.

2) All DIR (Discuss Individual Religions) forums are for the use of members who identify with those groups or practices. Debating is not permitted in DIRs; debates between members of specified groups should be posted in Same Faith Debates. Members who do not identify with a DIR group may only post respectful questions; we recommend creating a thread in the Religions Q&A instead where there is more freedom to comment. DIR forums are not to be used as a cover to bash others outside of the DIR group.

3) The Political World forum has several "only" subforums that are for the use of members who identify with those political leanings. Members who do not identify with those political leanings are not allowed to post there. The staff more strictly moderate Rule 10 violations where there is some other rule violation involved, such as preaching in a DIR or trolling a political forum a member doesn't belong to. More benign violations may be subject to informal reminders or moving threads to the appropriate location.

True that . This research of NASA is now on scientific foundation .
Until the late 1900s, people believed that the Torah was the oldest source of the flood story, but recent discoveries proved that this was an illusion, as in 1853 a copy of the Babylonian flood novel was found, and between 1889 and 1900, the first American mission to dig in Iraq discovered the clay tablet containing the Sumerian story of the flood in the city of Nebur (Nefar) and then others followed.
The summary of the story according to the Sumerian novel about a king called (Ziosoda) and was described as piety, this king was afraid of God, and keen to serve him in humility and reverence, and he prolongs the look to the holy place, and he evaluates the decision prepared by the complex of gods to send the flood as described the board storm and rain, which lasted seven days and seven nights in which the flood sweeps the earth, where he is described (Zeusuda) as the person who preserved the human race through the construction of The ship.
