Plenty of other companies are looking after their staff; but the likes of Weatherspoons and Britannia Hotels have not, and they've been worse in almost bragging about it.
I am likely to get laid off, so are many of my colleagues.
My son is a self-employed builder with a partner and son to provide for
Times are tough, idiots like Tim Martin should look after the less well off.

You do not build a company like Wetherspoons by being an idiot. I hope that he can save it by being a highly capable businessman.
You do build a Witherspoon's by being a selfish, uncaring, money grabbing opportunist who relies on his staff to build an empire then craps on them in times of need.

It can't be a very well thought out business if it made c£50m profit last year but hasn't enough reserves to see its staff right.
