EVPs - click if you dare!

If you were to download an EVP app, tried a short EVP session, and got a voice, would that make you question your concept of heaven and hell or the afterlife, considering according to some other's accounts that aren't filled with mental gymnastics, the EVP sessions often don't fully point to one religion being correct, but instead have their own story of spirits often lingering around on Earth or some dimension that can reach Earth and living a bittersweet afterlife that often is worse or no better than when they were alive?

What? Me worry?
Don't need this. I live with one that talks to, and sees, dead people as a common occurrence (true story). After 40 years of this, it's become mundane (the stories I could tell). BTW, that Hollywood ghost bs is bs.

So do I from time to time.
And I don’t believe in ghosts.
I heard my mother saying “ call me now” late one night.
I didn’t, because she was 91 and I didn’t want to disturb her over a head trip.
She died before I could contact her.
A friend of many years appeared in my room one night, sitting in a (non-existent) chair, just staring at me. I later heard that he had died. I didn’t even know he was ill.
While he was still alive, we had a kind of shared out—of- body experience. I was anaesthetised shortly before that (ketamine). I was playing bass while I recovered. He ‘woke up in white light’ in another city, and could hear me playing bass, so he rang to see WTF was going on.
And various other stuff...

I think most people move on to higher spiritual planes for a beautiful and peaceful experience. Those spirits more likely to be earthbound and more likely to create EVPs are the minority that are still held to the earth plane by some attachment. The earthbound will eventually move on and get an afterlife.

I' an EVP collector. There are other ways besides apps to collect them. I've also made videos on how to record and analyze EVPs. You can even do spirit sessions and have meaningful conversations with deceased strangers or family.

Hi, Snow White. I assumed that there was an EVP I could listen to based on the title of the thread. I've used some ghost-hunting EVP apps and digital recording apps that I have personally tested during my paranormal investigations, but I prefer to use an actual EVP recorder or digital recorder when attempting to document EVPs. I also like to use a spirit box to illicit communication with spirits in order to document the interaction. A close friend of mine and fellow paranormal investigator owns one of the original Frank's Boxes (the original spirit box invented by Frank Sumption). He always brings it with him when he investigates a haunted location. I especially enjoy using the Frank's Box. It's the most used piece of equipment during our investigations.

I don't think there was. This was a thread I made in 2020 that got revived by someone. I didn't explain what I meant very well. I think what this thread was about was a reaction to hearing something from a radio program, then posting broadly about it, but not explaining it very well.

All it would do for me is to think its pretty cool, but conclude it's sound based pareidolia and nothing more.

My fellow paranormal investigators and I currently use the Estes Method (see here) while attempting to accurately document spirit communication. The Estes Method, in essence, causes sensory deprivation through the use of a spirit box. Either I or another investigator will wear a dark blindfold and noise-cancelling headphones that block out any external distractions, allowing us to solely focus on what we hear coming from the spirit box. At the same time, other investigators will ask the spirits specific questions that we are unaware of because we can't see or hear them. We don't know what questions will be asked, so any potential responses from the spirit box can create a direct line of communication with the spirits since what we hear is fed directly into the noise-cancelling headphones. In a state of sensory deprivation (wearing the blindfold and noise-cancelling headphones), we will then repeat any words or phrases we hear through the spirit box, while the other investigators who have been asking the questions will determine if the responses are answers to their questions. In essence, this way of interacting with spirits reduces confirmation bias and allows for a more objective assessment of the messages. It is successful, in my opinion. Lastly, in my prior post here, I explained how I attempt to communicate with spirits and how I investigate a haunted location.

I settle for pareidolia. In Germany, some people "hear" strange German messages in English song lyrics that they don't understand. I guess it is basically the same phenomenon as EVP.
That's all it is.

A person can pick up anything through static using cheap pointless gadgets like ghost boxes that clearly capitalize on sound pareidolia for people possessing a much lower threshold of believability.
