14 centuries old recipe to stop pandemic of Corona-virus?

While some spiritual practices abandoned self-care and cleanliness to attain high spirituality, Islam made it obligatory to clean oneself in preparation for daily prayers.

Caring for one’s hygiene is not only deemed a good habit in Islam but also rendered into rituals that constitute part of the faith itself. Also, while Muslim cleaning himself by practicing Islam; he gets good deeds points (Hasanat) in his personal scorecard. As per Islam, everyone has a scorecard contains good (Hasanat) and bad deeds (Sayiat). At the judge day, only people who have good deeds greater than bad deeds will enter Paradise.

Allah said in Quran 2:22 "Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves."

21:107 "And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds."

Prophet Mohamed said “Cleanliness is part of faith"

Islam’s recipe to stop pandemic of Corona-virus and any other virus has several aspects starting from stopping the spread, optimistic to find a cure, must have the cure, to hygienic practices.

Prophet Mohammed recipe includes:

First: stop the spread of the disease:

  • Lockdown the area: Prophet Muhammad said: "If you hear of an outbreak of plague in a land, do not enter it; but if the plague outbreaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place."
  • Separate sick people: He also said: "Those with contagious diseases should be kept away from those who are healthy."
  • Don’t spread the disease : When coughing, sneezing or yawning, a Muslim covers his mouth and nose with a handkerchief or tissue, or his hand
  • Keep hands clean: wake-up, before/after eating, enter house, during Wudu (5 times a day at least), after toilet,,,

Second: Order to find a remedy for any disease

  • Hope to find remedy: He said "for God has not made a disease without appointing a remedy for it, with the exception of one disease—old age."
  • Have Medical treatment : He also said : "Make use of medical treatment,"

Third: hygienic practices: Muslim must

  • Wash hands after wake up
  • Make Wudu 5 times a day at least ( washing the hands, arms, face, and feet, rinsing the mouth and nose, wiping the head and the ears)
  • Wash hands once enter house
  • Change closes once enters the house
  • Wash hands before and after eating
  • Wash with water, but use of toilet paper is acceptable
  • Wash hands after toilet
  • Use Meswak (a peice of wood from a certain kind of tree looks like brushes) to clean mouse all the day
  • Differentiate right hand functions (shaking, eating, taking and giving) from left hand (in toilet)
  • Bath at least once a week
  • Take care of the nails at least once a week
  • Keep clothes clean
  • Circumcise males
  • Bath after intercourse
  • Prohibit intercourse with menstruate and postpartum women
At last, we have to stop here and ask:

How an illiterate person describe a 14 centuries old recipe to stop pandemic of Corona-virus?

Hand-washing is an obvious general hygiene practice, as is not being in contact with people who have a disease transmitted by, er, contact (which is what "contagious" means"). But I think my favourite is "Make use of medical treatment. How profound.

The rest of these rules are irrelevant to Covid-19.

It is a good thing in a primitive culture to have some rules about hygiene and I've no doubt it may have helped people in those early days, but these instructions give no insight or guidance as to how to manage the Covid-19 outbreak, let alone a recipe for how to stop it.

I'm at least glad the authorities in Qom have stopped people licking the shrine there.

I'm sure even in those days if a person got dirty or soiled, the practice of washing would of made common sense for the obvious reasons.

Wrong. Do not sneeze into your hands. Sneeze into your arm or elbow if no tissue is available. If you sneeze into your hands, you have covered them with a load of germs, which you then take and deposit onto every single object of person that that hand touches. You basically become like the candy man, throwing viral-pops to everyone you love.

If you accidently, or inadvisably sneeze into your hands, immediately go to the sink and wash your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds, then disinfect the handles on the sink with an alcohol wipe if you touched them, or any other surface before you washed the germs off of them you just blew all over them by sneezing into them.

Please follow modern scientific best practices. They understand more about the spread of diseases than ancient peoples did. This should be your source of information how to stay safe instead: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) – Prevention & Treatment

The objective of the post is to prove that these rules are not from just a human thinking, it's from Almighty the Creator.

Also, used it to demonstrate other irrelevant to Corona virus hygiene attitude in islam

It's not an alternative to the procedure you're following to protect yourself from Corona virus

Yes, I know, but that is a problem since sneezing into your hand is bad medical advice. I think believing that God is responsible for advising that, must be based on incorrect reasoning.

But the point is that modern medicine is demonstrably superior. So why go backwards and cling to inferior methods?

And why would a supposedly all powerful and all knowing God be so generic and vague and sub-par in his advice? Give us specifics, Allah.

It's the concepts of lockdown and hygienic practice

I'm surprised (and yet not) that you failed to include mental hygiene.
Suppose that will become rare among modern imbeciles: we'd be in store for squalor for the masses, not just the marginals. For that, mere "holy water" will suffice for now in pacifying them, since they are so easily appeased by phantoms. Don't forget: be fruitful and multiply.

I agree*. I think the best cure would be for the experts to study the virus and learn more about it and develop appropriate responses in combating it. :0)

*Reminder to put a soft pillow when you fall to the floor. I don't want one of my favourite Bushido buddies to get hurt. *Grin*

As some said that these are normal practices and where is the metrical in this.
Let see how even modern era people are behaving after discovery of virus and bacteria.
  • A 2014 study showed that Saudi Arabia had the highest rate of 97 percent; the United States near the middle with 77 percent; and China with the lowest rate of 23 Hand Washing
  • 40% of Americans don’t always wash their hands after going to the bathroom in 24000 sample YouGov
  • European starts from 50% Where Europeans Wash Their Hands After Using The Toilet
Imagine, how it was 1000 years ago

So in one Islamic country (which is a horrible dictatorship) they almost all wash their hands. Great. What does that prove? Where in the Qur'an is the explanation of germ theory, vaccines, or any modern medical techniques or technology that could have saved millions of lives in the 7th century?

There certainly is nothing special or Divine about hand-washing by the ancients.

When you think of it, I'm pretty sure their reasoning was not germ control, but rather the simple fact that if you wash, your food will taste better.

Being illiterate does not mean that he was dumb. Although ancient people may not have the knowledge that we have about disease and epidemics, they weren't stupid. There were plagues back then, and it's only reasonable to conclude that even they are able to observe what works in preventing the spread of plagues. I've noticed that a lot of people today are quick to dismiss the knowledge that ancient people had. So something like this isn't surprising to me.
