Or is the C.I.A.?

Or is he just another Socialist Democrat paying lip service?

"Here's the exchange between Sanders and Anderson Cooper on "60 Minutes":
Cooper: Do you know how all -- how much though? I mean, do you have a price tag for -- for all of this?
Sanders: We do. I mean, you know, and -- and-- the price tag is -- it will be substantially less than letting the current system go. I think it's about $30 trillion.
Cooper: That's just for "Medicare for All," you're talking about?
Sanders: That's just "Medicare for All," yes.
Cooper: Do you have -- a price tag for all of these things?
Sanders: No, I don't. We try to -- no, you mentioned making public colleges and universities tuition free and canceling all student debt, that's correct. That's what I want to do. We pay for that through a modest tax on Wall Street speculation.
Cooper: But you say you don't know what the total price is, but you know how it's gonna be paid for. How do you know it's gonna be paid for if you don't know how much the price is?
Sanders: Well, I can't -- you know, I can't rattle off to you every nickel and every dime. But we have accounted for -- you -- you talked about "Medicare for All." We have options out there that will pay for it.
What? So, Sanders not only a) isn't sure how much all of his proposals would cost but also b) isn't able to say how he would pay for these programs. "

"So, here's what we now know about Sanders' plans for America:

1) He isn't sure how much they will cost.
2) He isn't totally sure how he will pay for them.
3) It's likely they will be paid for by an increase in taxes on the middle class."

Most of us have quite a bit of money coming out of our paychecks for health insurance. Under M4A, likely that money will be moved into going to the government instead. So, yes - that's a tax increase, but will it leave you with any less take home pay? That's not as clear. For some it will, for others it will likely mean more take home pay.

If you think 3 would happen you haven't been paying attention. The same goes for 1 and 2, because numbers have been given and plans for paying.

For me, it's not what I take home, it's what I get to keep after going to a doctor. When it comes to my health, I have enough problems that I qualify for extra benefits in both Indiana and California, and private insurances for me are scary. Asides from bs games and loopholes that have let them not cover what I need (such as keeping a request for services in "approval limbo" so they could let me have another birthday and lose my insurance from my dad to not cover a knee surgery), things like high deductibles are a threat because I can run that up very quickly, in just a couple or few months. Chronic knee pains, regular colonoscopies, regular check ups, several medications, I take more money home on my income, but for those like me that doesn't mean it won't be getting left behind at the doctors office.

I will take Sander's "democratic socialism" over what we have here in the States six days a week and twice on Sunday. In Sweden, for example, there's what's called "cradle to grave protection", thus everyone has great healthcare (one of the best outcomes internationally), help with dental care, good pensions, day care provisions, lotsa vacation and birth time off, very good schools and universities, etc. And the chances of going from poor to middle class is now greater there than here in the States.

It's not free of course, but obviously the Swedes, including my relatives there, are more than willing to pay for it. I have studied it in quite a bit of depth, and I'd definitely prefer theirs, as it's a very compassionate system overall.

I would rather see my tax dollars going toward a national health care system that would actually benefit all of us than say dropping bombs on the rocks in Afghanistan.

I definitely think that Jesus would approve of your statement above, and for more reasons than just one.

Bernie Sanders can just do what Trump does - borrow the money. After all, the Trump party does not care how big the deficits are or how fast they're growing.

What? You mean to assert that's only true when they're in power and can give the rich more money in tax cuts (in dollar terms)? How dare someone imply that they're raging hypocrites who only complain when Democrats spend money.

Probably why if Bernie gets the nomination, he'll lose to Trump. Not because of Republican support but because of a lack of support from Democrats.
A lot of labor unions have negotiated nice healthcare benefits through collective bargaining. Probably don't want to risk losing the benefits they had to work so hard for.

The unions in Nevada went all out against Bernie to stop him. With the unions and conservatives against Bernie, he is going to be a tough sale.

No he just has no idea regarding the costs. This is what happened when a campaign makes promises using other people's money to buy votes. Fiscal responsibility means nothing.

I don't think its any secret that Trump would prefer to run against Sanders. How can his followers help get Sanders the nomination? Some states allow you to take any ballot regardless of how you are registered. So Republicans may take a democratic ballot, vote for Sanders, and change back their party affiliation. If the numbers were large enough it might make a difference.

So you don't have much confidence in Sanders' ability to beat Trump?

What, you mean Jesus didn't heal people based on their ability to pay?
Whaaaa? Of course he. Those "Bibles" that portray him as going around and healing people no questions asked and not concerned about their this sin and that sin, those are all fake news Bibles. In the real Bible he charged lots of money, slapped a sinner ***** up and turned them away, and the masses went broke.

At least Bernie has a plan for dealing with the healthcare crisis. True, it's a very complex issue and can't be summarized in a 30 second sound bite, but it's a plan similar to the plans that have been successfully implemented in the vast majority of modernized nations in the world, where people get comparable if not better healthcare for a fraction of what we pay.

On the other side you have the Republicans who have NO plan, other than to dismantle what's left of the Affordable Care act. Which will result in millions of people without any health coverage and bring back preexisting conditions, which will mean millions more are denied any coverage. In other words, the Republican's 'plan' is to let the healthcare industry continued to squeeze out every last dollar from the American public that it possibly can.

Personally I prefer the plan that helps people avoid going into bankruptcy just because a family member gets cancer over the plan designed to ensure that HMOs and drug manufacturers continue to earn maximum profits.

I live in a country (just to the north of you, actually) where we have health care for all. Yes, we pay for it through our taxes, but I'm not being taxed out of my ability to thrive, even though I'm nobody special, not a millionaire, still earning a wage at 72.

How is that possible? It's possible -- to be perfectly honest -- by dropping the bloody hysteria!

Several years ago, when my spine problem got to be something I could no longer bear, I went to my family doctor (free visit, paid by healthcare), was referred to a neurosurgeon (one of the best in Canada), had an MRI, was offered surgery (lumbar laminectomy, 3 levels) within the week, accepted it, had it -- and all turned out perfectly.

It cost me nothing -- it would have cost an American their car, and probably more.

Everybody needs to understand that there are things that are actually best paid for through either an insurance scheme, or a general taxation scheme, for no other reason than that while most people won't need it, for those who do it will be ruinously expensive.

Americans seem to be incredibly emotionally bound up in something that a lot of the rest of the world has calmly reasoned out. Weird, really.

Well, some details might have to be worked out later. In essence, the government has the option of setting the price. So, it's simply a matter of cutting the prices to the point that they're affordable and won't require an increase in taxes.

In fact, we can do that for just about everything the government spends money on. Just lower the prices, and it would save the taxpayers a ton of money - and we might even be able to put a dent in the National Debt. And we wouldn't have to raise taxes one bit.
