macro-micro nutrients

I'm eating healthy! ” This trio is not enough for you to say. In addition to this team known as “macronutrients” (i.e. “protein, fat, carbohydrate” trio), you must absolutely and definitely add micronutrients to your cells. So, what are those micronutrients?

MICROBESINS are the “fine workers” of the feeding world. They determine the details. They affect the processes. The initial hits and the final decisions of the metabolic processes are theirs. They are also indispensable for the nutritional constitution. What are they? Here is the shortest list ...

Vitamins: Compounds in that wonderful “amine” structure that adds strength to our lives (vita); Vitamins A, B, C, D, E, K: Abundant vegetables and fruits, pulses ...

Minerals: Tiny, but extraordinarily powerful natural forces that give life to us, give direction; calcium, magnesium, selenium, zinc: More often pulses, vegetables, seafood ...

Antioxidants: Our indomitable warriors, our friends who prevent rust. Our most effective companions in our slow and good aging are; lycopene, catechins, polyphenol and flavonoid family, elagic, coumaric, caffeic acids ... Wonderful molecules that do not end with writing, counting; green, green, purple, colorful vegetables and fruits and lots of spices ...

Essential oils: Omega-3s (DHA, EPA), Omega-5 (punicic acid), Omega-6 (gamalinoleic acid), Omega-9 (oleic acid) and others; fish, linseed, walnut, pomegranate, olive oil ...

If you eat a normal balanced diet, including a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables and some oily fish, you get plenty of all these and do not need to worry about the details in the least.

P.S. By the way, vitamins are not amines. Amines are organic molecules with the functional group R₂N- , in which R is either H or a carbon chain of some sort. Whereas, to take one example, Vitamin C has this structure, in which you can see there is no nitrogen atom, just hydrogen carbon and oxygen:

If you eat healthy, you get all that stuff you need, and you don't have to concern yourself with macro and micro nutrients. Food shouldn't be too complicated (if anything, it should be the recipes that get complicated), the less processed the better, the more involved with it you are the better, and if you eat like you should there is just no reason to make things complicated unless you have some specific goal in mind (such as training for the Olympics, in which that case you'd need more complex carbs than the average person; body builders need more protein; and of course there are special diets for medical purposes, but that's another case altogether). But, for most people, eating healthy and getting plenty of exercise and physical activity is sufficient. Anything else is just unnecessary.

My eating pattern is oat bran/yogurt/fruit for breakfast and large tasty salads for lunch & dinner. Very seldom do I eat bread etc. And, of course, that essential nutrient --- caffeine in various forms.

No chips+beer.
This is where we must disagree. I'm picky about the chips, but every once in awhile I love fish and chips. Or the American version of a burger and fries, but I'm even more picky with my fries than I am my chips (I won't even eat McDonald fries).

Agree totally, fries are not chips - chips should be much larger, chunky and cooked in unhealthy animal fat.

One thing I am disappointed in is the fries in California suck (it's like they forgot you can flavor them). It's to the point I'm wanting to go a few hours north to San Fransisco to this one brewery than has a few locations, one where I used to live in Indiana, and if they have the same fries the drive will be totally worth it.

Dear Shadow Wolf,
as far as I know, chip is fat+starch, isn't it? What is the difference?
