The Great Deception of Christianity - Departing the Faith (the Word)

Jesus knew what the Abomination of Desolation was. He knew about Antiochus and the Maccabean Revolt. Its ridiculous to think he didn't know because it was a terrible time for the Jews .. and Jesus would have known the history of Hannukah when the Temple was rededicated.

Jesus could also see what was happening.. The Jews were fighting each other and the Romans. It was bad to end badly..

In fact some churches include the Books of the Maccabees... I think the Armenian church includes it.

Jesus Christ also revealed in his book of Revelation who the Abomination of Desolation is ..
And it sure Isn't who you say it is.
And further more.
Before any of the Prophecy's of
Matthew 24 can happen..there are
3 verses that has to come to their fulfilment first..which only one of the 3
came to it's fulfilment in 1948 and the other 2 Prophecy's are yet to come to their fulfillment.

In Matthew 24:32--"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; when his branch is yet tender,. and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is nigh"

Now do you understand what the parable of the fig tree is.
Where in the Bible is the first place the fig tree is made mentioning of ?
And now to line the parable of the fig tree up to our time. Which brings about the end of our age
And the coming of Jesus Christ.

By man's teachings will say
"Mystery, Babylon the Great , The Mother of Harlots" Revelation 17:5
As being the Roman Catholic Church and the Pope as being the beast of
Revelation 13.
That's all man's teachings and nothing that Jesus Christ taught..
If the Roman Catholic Church is Babylon the great..then your going to have to explain exactly how the Roman Catholic Church came to be at the time of Nimrod
of building the tower of Babel.
Genesis 10:8-10...11:1-9.
Note that Babel is short for Babylon.

When there's no mentioning of the Roman Catholic Church.
The Roman Catholic Church didn't come into existence until the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ..about 70 years later. And it was Disciples Paul and Peter who establish the Roman Catholic Church about 70 years after the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
At this time the Roman Catholic Church was called the church of Antioch.
And then many years later, the church of Antioch soon to be called the Roman Catholic Church..
And then many years later the Roman Catholic Church moved to Rome and
over thru the Government of Rome.
Of Constantine and the Pope took the seat of power of Rome.. which is called to day
the. Vatican. of Rome.

Where the Roman Catholic Church the Vatican now set's is the same place where Jesus Christ was taken to Emperor Caesar of Rome and stood before Pilate the governor and the people cried out crucify him.and Jesus Christ was taken back to Jerusalem and crucified.

Daniel was never in Babylon. Its history not prophecy.. Daniel was writing about when Antiochus IV sacrificed a pig to Zeus in the Temple.. He defiled the Temple among other things. He made circumcision a crime and put Jews to death for it.

He was trying to Hellenize the Jews.

That's why the Jews celebrate Hannukah when the Temple was rededicated.

Now here in the book of Daniel plainly shows Daniel as being in Babylon.
Notice in verse 6 below( Daniel)

In the book of Daniel 1:1--6.
1--"In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.

2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.

3 And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;

4 Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

5 And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.

6 Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

All thru the Bible Israel is called a fig tree. What's your point? In the OT the good figs were taken to Babylon, the bad figs were left behind.

The Abomination that Causes Desolation is the Greek and Roman Armies with their Idols to Foreign Gods that Caused the Desolation of Israel.

You can't be serious.
The abomination of desolation is when Satan comes down on the mount of O'lives claiming to be God. But you wouldn't know this. You follow man's teachings.
Is why Jesus Christ Condemn man's teachings in Matthew 15:7-9.
7 You hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men"

I feel like whenever people begin campaigning for Sola Scriptura, and then bash Traditionalist views as evil, as matter of fact, we end up with a lot of proselytizing, where people begin stating opinions as definitive fact.... And then we often see the continuous spamming of those opinions stated as fact, over and over and over, which is kind of like preaching, but in a very derogative, unproductive manner.

...This style of posting, that so often spreads like a cancer, is not something I have ever appreciated, on any of the forums I have ever visited or been a member of.

The author(s) of Daniel are writing a history ,,

Did you know that back in Jerusalem prophet Jeremiah and Daniel wrote letters to each other.. Jeremiah 29:1--"Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the residue of the elders which were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon"

Did you also know that Prophets Ezekiel and Isaiah were also in Babylon at the time of Daniel

I'm sorry..

Let's try this. You tell me WHY the Jews celebrate Hannukah.

Where is the verse about Satan coming down on the Mt Of Olives?

LOLOLOL. The Book of Daniel was not written by Daniel but it was written in 167 BC.

Of course, I enter here with good intentions, but if I stick around, I'm sure I'll end up spouting venom myself.

This is not a healthy place to be. By here, I mean here specifically, on this thread.

As Peter says "we ought to obey God rather then man

How about neither? I'm not really interested in following anybody.

No. Roman numerals. Do you know the difference?

I sure saw a lot of 666's. Did you mean DCLXVI? That's the first six roman numerals in reverse order.

the scriptures that teach that the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned

Why are you telling others what the scriptures say if you believe that they can't discern their meanings?

Actually, we get this a lot. The Bible is pretty simple to understand even with all of its contradictions and ambiguities. Those phrases and sentences mean whatever one wants them to mean, like this poetry from Dylan:

Cinderella, she seems so easy
"It takes one to know one", she smiles
And puts her hands in her back pockets
Bette Davis style

And in comes Romeo, he’s moaning
“You Belong to Me I Believe”
And someone says, “You’re in the wrong place my friend
You'd better leave”

And the only sound that’s left
After the ambulances go
Is Cinderella sweeping up
On Desolation Row

That's not hard to understand. None of the words are unfamiliar. But if anybody wants to do what you are doing in this thread and tell you what it means to them as if that was all it could mean to anybody, and then tell you that they had special powers of discernment, tell them the words don't actually mean anything.

And just as the images on a Rorschach test aren't of anything, biblical scripture is a linguistic Rorschach test.

If you want the most neutral interpretation of scripture, go to an unbeliever. He'll have no agenda to try to make it make sense, whereas the believer will change the meanings of words to sanitize them. For example, there is nothing blessed about being meek, which is a poverty of spirit that causes one to be easily imposed upon when he should be assertive and stand up for himself or others.

But the believer will generally change meek to humble or something similar, which is a completely different word, as one can be humble without being meek. I don't need to do that, so I can give you a clearer picture of what the words mean as I have here.

Someday, I'll tell you why turning the other cheek is a bad idea and why just about every other option is better, including putting your hands up to defend your face rather than inciting further violence.

Believers won't tell you these things. They'll just convert turning the other cheek to forgiving because the meaning of the words is bad advice, and has to be modified to something that isn't.

If you do not believe Gods' Word you will not follow what God's Word says neither can you know what they mean

And we see this a lot as well - trying to disqualify the judgments of unbelievers regarding scripture. For years, I kept a growing collection of believers trying to disqualify the opinions of unbelievers

[1] You took the scripture out of context.

[2] You don't understand literary criticism

[3] It's an allegory, not literal.

[4] It's literal, not an allegory.

[5] Scripture is only transparent to those with a child's perspective

[6] Scripture is only transparent to biblical scholars

[7] You are not filled with the Holy Spirit

[8] That's the mystery of it all. "God works in mysterious ways"

[9] Man's mind is too puny to grasp the immensity of God's truth and justice.

[10] You were obviously never a "true christian"

[11] You don't have enough faith. You have to believe to understand.

[12] You can't criticize the bible because you don't believe or understand it.

[13] Why do we think we can pretend to know God?

[14] Scripture always interprets scripture

[15] Ever heard of biblical hermeneutics?

[16] You are not TRULY with truth and sincerity seeking God.

[17] You have to know how to translate Hebrew and Greek

[18] You are using a completely unsupportable transliteration of Scripture

[19] You have clearly not studied the ancient peoples who wrote those things or you would not come up with the conclusions you have.

[20] Sorry, but attending a church for a few years doesn't make you any sort of Biblical expert.

[21] Stop scripture mining.

[22] You have to be familiar with the technical terminologies in the bible before you can comprehend it.

[23] Even Satan can quote scripture.

[24] In any other field, like medicine, engineering, technology, electronics, software, computer, unless you have qualifications and experience, you are not allowed to open you mouth.

[25] You have no reference in the knowledge of God to know our experience in Christ Jesus. The Word has to be embedded in one's heart, and that can come from God only.

[26] You're asking me to give you a four year bible study course on Topix?

[27] Dont fall in the trap of being a one verse wonder. You need to understand the passage and true meaning of the verse.

[28] You're only making a fool out of yourself trying to argue over something that you are not Blessed to understand.

[29] When you read scripture, one has to discern WHO that particular verse was written to..The believer or the Non believer. If we cant understand that then YES, the bible would seem to be very contradicting.

[30] A doctor, lawyer, scientist, or engineer are so used to reading their professional documentation literally, that metaphor, allegory, parables, hyperbole, and analogies are like another language unto themselves.

[31] You are not bright or educated enough to spew against Bible

[32] I would question the person who thinks that you understand even one page of any Bible. Without first learning the language how could you.

[33] Your arguments are so full of errors and misconceptions I don't even wanna touch it.

[34] You and others like you can't understand because you're not permitted to unless/until you repent and confess Christ as LORD.

[35] The power of the gospel is designed to frustrate the wisdom of the wise.

[36] It's so damn cute when atheists reach for their Bible to make their point. I love it!

[37] Your biased interpretation of the text is not the absolute interpretation that is required.

[38] It requires theological understanding. You don't have that. I do.

[39] We cannot and must not apply modern concepts to ancient cultures. It causes failure to understand.

[40] It takes humility to understand the Bible

[41] You get your biblical passages from Atheist web sites.

[42] A copy/paste from Biblehub does not make one a biblical expert.

[43] Don't bother quoting Scripture to me, atheist. You don't even know what you're doing.

[44] Your lack of belief in God coupled with your lack of experience with God means you are not qualified to comment on God.

[45] He believes he is qualified on the basis that he has been inside a church and picked up a bible.

[46] The word of God can not be understood no matter how many times it is read without the help of the Holy Spirit.

[47] Out of context arguments are presented by narrow minds that refuse to take in the bigger perspectives and the greater all encompassing truths.

[48] You're cherry picking scripture.

[49] You can't just read the Bible to understand it, you need to study the scriptures.

[50] You don't know what Jesus was talking about. Typical atheist.

[51] If you are going to quote Scripture for support for your claims then you need to tell me what the context is.

[52] Your ignorance of the Bible, its laws and customs and what applies to Christians today is embarrassing. You should be red faced for making this comment in public.

[53] You have no biblical expertise, your word on the Bible is strictly a layman's opinion.

[54] You want to convince me you have knowledge of the Bible. 1) Provide 5 examples of slave liberation in the Old Testament. 2) King Saul was merciful to the merciless and subsequently merciless to the merciful. Explain.

[55] You are a heretic with little if any understanding of Scripture. If you did study the Bible it was in a Laurel and Hardy College in Tijuana

[56] Like I say there are no errors in the bible only skeptics that can't read and comprehend.

[57] You're a Biblical ignoramus.

[58] You need Jehovah’s approval to understand His word.

[59] Please don't say, 'how can I trust it? The Bible contradicts itself'. That will only be evidence to me that you don't understand what it's ancient writers meant, and don't want to.

[60] I guess the issue here is, one of us has studied the original languages of the Bible, and has a degree in biblical studies and religion.

[61] How can people read the Christian Bible backwards and expect to get reasonable results.

[62] “The scriptures are "the words of the wise" and you need wisdom to understand them.”

[63] “to have a proper understanding of what God desires you need to read the whole of scripture vs picking out isolated passages.”

[64] “Fixating on individual verses, especially in the Old Testament, written in an ancient pre-Christian culture, is not really a great way to read the bible.”

[65] It's quite obvious that you don't have any understanding about Spiritual discernment : "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned" 1 Corinthians 2:14

[66] A deeper understanding is important.

[67] I think someone has to be spiritually cognizant, though, to receive that.

[68] From the get go, the Bible was intended to be understood by only who were spiritually ready.

[69] a non-believer can never understand the Bible as much as a believer

[70] if you would be so gentlemanly as to refrain from commenting when you don't know Bible 101 about the issue.

[71] Coming from someone who absolutely knows nothing substantial about the Bible

[72] I can't help it if all of the atheists here are wrong; they're 100% ignorant.
