What are your reasons for saying that you believe in God?

How are you thinking about God, when you say that you believe in Him? What do you think your reasons are for saying that? How did it happen that you started saying that?

I see him. And see that he sees me.

How? Satan drove me into madness and God and his chosen ones helped me out of it and are ever there in the hardships and they appeared to me many times and God never disappeared from my sight.

I not only see God but I am aware of weapons from him, that help me fight back Iblis. The skills and weapons I've gained in the spiritual fight - had I not seen God or God not been there with me, I would have long perished.

I rarely say that I believe in God, but when I do, I’m thinking of everything my scriptures say about Him as being purely metaphorical. I trust those metaphors. One reason is because it helps me understand what my scriptures are saying in ways that work well for my purposes. The way I came to that is from 50 years of study and practice.

Our genetic code's Creator left a mark of intelligence in our genetic code as evident by how the numeric and semantic message of 037 appears in our genetic code. Each codon relates to 3 other particular codons having the same particular type of initial nucleobase and sequential nucleobase subsequently then followed by a different ending nucleobase. Half of these 4 set of codon groups ( whole family codons ) each code for the same particular amino acid. The other half of those 4 set of codon groups ( split codons ) don't code for the same amino acid. So then, in the case of whole family codons, there are 37 amino acid peptide chain nucleons for each relevant nucleobase determinant of how a particular amino acid gets coded. Start codons express 0 at the beginning of 37 Hence, the meaningful numeric and semantic message of 037 gets unambiguously and factually conveyed to us descendants of our cosmic ancestor(s) with our genetic code invented by a superior intelligence beyond that of anybody presently bound to Earth.

“There is no plausible chemical logic to couple directly the triplets and the amino acids. In other words, the principles of chemistry where not the sought essence of the genetic code”

“The zero is the supreme abstraction of arithmetic. Its use by any alphabet, including the genetic code, can be an indicator of artificiality.”

"The place-value decimal system represented through digital symmetry of the numbers divisible by prime number (PN 037). This arithmetical syntactic feature is an innate attribute of the genetic code. The PN 037 notation with a leading zero emphasizes zero's equal participation in the digital symmetry. Numbers written by identical digits are devised by PN 037*3=111 and 1+1+1=3 and appear regularly [from the figure: 037*6 =222 and 2+2+2=6, 037*9=333 and 3+3+3 =9, 037*4=444 and 4+4+4=12, 037*15=555 and 5+5+5=15, 037*18=666 and 6+6+6=18, 037*21=777 and 7+7+7 =21. 037*24 =888 and 8+8+8=24, 037*27=999 and 9+9+9=27.)"

"There is a complete set of information symbols utilizing the decimal syntax 111, 222, 333, 444, 555, 666, 777, 888, 999 in the genetic code. Each of these symbols consists uniformly of a carrier (balanced nucleons) and a meaning (the decimal syntax)."

This informational and artificial characteristic of the WOW signal of the terrestrial genetic code demonstrates intelligent design.

This intelligent signal transmitted via genetic code that has been documented and confirmed by scientists researching the WOW signal of the terrestrial genetic code is prima facie evidence for an intelligent designer of life's genetic code.

The authors who discovered this mark of intelligence embedded in our genetic code show that "the terrestrial code displays a thorough precision-type orderliness matching the criteria to be considered an informational signal. Simple arrangements of the code reveal an ensemble of arithmetical and ideographical patterns of the same symbolic language. Accurate and systematic, these underlying patterns appear as a product of precision logic and nontrivial computing rather than of stochastic processes (the null hypothesis that they are due to chance coupled with presumable evolutionary pathways is rejected with P-value < 10–13). The patterns are profound to the extent that the code mapping itself is uniquely deduced from their algebraic representation. The signal displays readily recognizable hallmarks of artificiality, among which are the symbol of zero, the privileged decimal syntax and semantical symmetries. Besides, extraction of the signal involves logically straightforward but abstract operations, making the patterns essentially irreducible to any natural origin. Plausible ways of embedding the signal into the code and possible interpretation of its content are discussed. Overall, while the code is nearly optimized biologically, its limited capacity is used extremely efficiently to pass non-biological information."

I just have faith inside me, my mind has said "I, Believe" every couple of days since I was 5 or 6 years old. And since then I hsve tried to understand faith on a metaphysical level, and that has lead me to the conclusion that God is passive.

I could probably write a book on this topic but I'll just sketch a few points.

it varies. Sometimes I think of God as immanent and sometimes as transcendent. Sometimes I see God in loving eyes. Sometimes I experience God in beauty. Sometimes I hear God in music which lifts me out of my ordinary every day egoistic self. Sometimes poetry lessons the veils between me and the truth.

My reasons both experiential and logical.

Early on, I came to the conclusion that either God existed or existence was ultimately meaningless and random. If God existed, I had to find a frame of reference that answered all my questions and individuals whose lives reflected God in their actions.

But more than that, this excerpt of a song is what happened:

Change can come in the twinkling of an eye,
In the ripple upon a lake.
Change can come in the color of a flower,
In the sparkle of morning dew,
When the Light catches you.
In that tiny moment, you are transformed.

I see him.
That is wonderful. Hazrat Musa only saw his hind part. You say that your soul sees him. Does your soul has eyes? Is your soul a 'small man' somewhere in your body? Or you are talking of your mind that it sees your Allah? A little explanation would be welcome. May Allah keep you away from sin.

"La tudrikuhu alabsaru wahuwa yudriku alabsara wahuwa allateefu alkhabeeru" Al-Quran al-Kareem Surah Al-Anaam 103
Our genetic code's Creator left a mark of intelligence in our genetic code as evident by how the numeric and semantic message of 037 appears in our genetic code.
The question is not what he did, but why he did it? Why this world? Why the humans? What was the need? Or just because he had nothing else to do?
Early on, I came to the conclusion that either God existed or existence was ultimately meaningless and random.
In what way God gives meaning to our existence?

The reason I started this thread in the Religious Q&A forum was because I was hoping for people to follow its special rules. I’ve added a note about that in the OP.

Do you see all that with your physical eyes, or some other way?

I don't what to call it but my soul sees him.

In this part of a prayer, that one can choose to say each day, I see that is our path to seeing what is of God;

"..Thou seest, O my God, how my spirit hath been stirred up within my limbs and members, in its longing to worship Thee, and in its yearning to remember Thee and extol Thee; how it testifieth to that whereunto the tongue of Thy Commandment hath testified in the kingdom of Thine utterance and the heaven of Thy knowledge. I love in this state, O my Lord, to beg of Thee all that is with Thee, that I may demonstrate my poverty, and magnify Thy bounty and Thy riches, and may declare my powerlessness, and manifest Thy power and Thy might..."

I know nothing of God, I am a skeptic. I comforts me to believe in God and anchors my subjective belief in that all humans are scared and with worth and dignity.
For the rest I am in this world and don't use God as such, unless we are to play what objective reality really is. I know nothing of that and that is with God.

... comforts me to believe in God ...
What’s comforting about it? Is it the word “God” by itself that comforts you, or some ideas that you associate with that word? Or is it some things you do and the ways that you do them, that you call “believe in God”?

God's been with me for awhile now. That's why I believe in God. I must admit and I'm not proud of it; I've even tried to deny God before (because I was angry) but I knew it was not true. I spoke emphatically; but my heart belied it. Even though I tried to convince myself. God was still real. My reasoning mind must accept the knowledge of God. I know He is greater than all. And yet God's love is real. God loves us all. I've felt God's love for people. I wouldn't have that love. People take drugs to try to feel what I've felt without any.

Are there some experiences that you’re thinking of when you say that God has been with you? Can you think of some examples of what has happened in your life, that showed you that God is with you?

Wauu! You are asking me in part to account for something which is sort of subconscious.
The shortest shorthand I can give is "existential angst". Not that I am free as an individual and responsible for my actions as me as such, but also the "dread" of being a skeptic. I used to be "in free fall" because I had no existential certainty.
So I "solved" it by placing trust in God.
And found an "anchor" for my belief that all humans are scared and with worth and dignity.

In psychological terms it is from of "negative" coping - "surrender" to that, which you can't control and turn into something positive. In a sense I am fooling myself, but I don't care. It comforts.

Do you remember this one?
"Many of us saw religion as harmless nonsense. Beliefs might lack all supporting evidence but, we thought, if people needed a crutch for consolation, where's the harm? ..."
There is more, but that doesn't apply to me, since I don't believe in revealed truth.
Here is the rest:
"... September 11th changed all that. Revealed faith is not harmless nonsense, it can be lethally dangerous nonsense. Dangerous because it gives people unshakeable confidence in their own righteousness. Dangerous because it gives them false courage to kill themselves, which automatically removes normal barriers to killing others. Dangerous because it teaches enmity to others labelled only by a difference of inherited tradition. And dangerous because we have all bought into a weird respect, which uniquely protects religion from normal criticism. Let's now stop being so damned respectful!"
That is Richard Dawkins. We can debate the rest but not here in this thread.

In short I tried to use a crutch and it turns out, it works of me.

Does your God delight in your slavish mentality? Why do you use 'olde' English in your prayers?

That is another great reason for me saying I believe in God. As God to me, is all Loving and the creator of us all.

As such, I see I can only offer that Love in return to all people and It is I that delight in that submission, it is entirely my free choice. God does not require of me to do it at all.

To explain more, is not this OP.

I see my overall reason to believe in God, is the desire in my heart to offer and only to do right, towards all people. Like all things, that takes practice and I am far from getting it right.

Little by little, day by day.
