Faith - strong belief in something which are not proven.
Proven - demonstrated by evidence or argument to be true or existing.
Believe - accept that (something) is true.
Belief - an acceptance that something exists or is true.

(1) If something is not proven, as in not demonstrated by evidence or argument to be true or existing, why would someone believe that something is true/exist?

(2) Why would someone have strong belief in something which are not proven?

(3) Is it rational if one believe in something which are not proven?

(4) Is it rational if one have strong belief in something which are not proven?

(5) What reason can cause one to believe something is true/exist?

(6) What reason will cause one to believe something is true/exist?

Edit:
Definition of Faith:
1. Complete trust or confidence in someone or something
2. Strong belief in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual conviction rather than proof.

1) many things are simply impossible to prove like opinions for example or even, to a certain point, moral axiom and values in general.

2) People can believe in something which isn't proven due to intuition for example or because it matches moral/philosophical beliefs

3 and 4) In general,no, it's not rational.

5 and 6) it depends on their epistemology what can cause someone to believe in something is extremely varied.

I have not yet met a theist who does not have any evidence for their beliefs.
My disagreeing with their evidence is besides the point.
It is still evidenced.

(2) Why would someone have strong belief in something which are not proven?
Proven to whom?
Please give an example of someone who believes something they have not proven to themself.

A lot of people believe there is no God but do not have the evidence to prove it.

The proof in more than the material senses.

So if one is not open to the idea that life is more than the 5 senses, that we are Spirit, then no material Metephor given as proof of the Spirit, will ever satisfy them.

If one sees they are more than flesh, then the proofs are infinite.

Most things are unprovable. Germ theory? Heliocentrism? -- unproven -- but well enough evidenced to make disbelief obtuse in the extreme.

Your definition of faith leaves something to be desired ...

I agree.
I mean if more people agreed, then more people would agree.

"proof" is a dirty 5 letter word

the Truth is everywhere

Truth is all there is

and when it's all said and done

everything is true

I believe in myself even though I frequently disappoint myself.
I believe in my Kids even though they frequently break my rules.
I believe in my wife even though we argue and she won't speak or be in the same room for me for a week.

What amazes me is that people believe in things that constantly disappoint.

For instance 47 percent of Americans believe in Donald Trump.
Many people believe the KKK is right.

...

But the funny thing is that nothing is proven, if you don’t believe it. No matter what proof is given, it is meaningful or real proof to person only after he believes it is true. It is interesting how easily people believe “scientific facts” that seem to be in constant change, and still think they are not believers.

Don't you love that you have to put definitions clauses so that people won't hijack the thread over words one can read by dictionary?...

(1) If something is not proven, as in not demonstrated by evidence or argument to be true or existing, why would someone believe that something is true/exist?

Because it helps them live better lives, find purpose, and see the world better. It gives them trust in themselves and they know they do not need any facts (though some try to. Maybe out of desperation for truth/fact) to live a good life with their supernatural belief systems. Just as love, they feel the person who gives it and their experience is proof enough.

Sure, I believe in things which are not proven but have some degree of evidence to support the belief.

When there is a lack of evidence to support a belief, or evidence against a belief, that's when it becomes irrational to believe in something.

When it comes to a God, I have enough evidence to invalidate anecdotal evidence of a God. So it would take more than anecdotal evidence from someone who is a believer to actually support a belief in God.
