Missouri's New Book Banning Bill Would Imprison Librarians And Defund Libraries

It is worrisome that there are yokels attempting to slowly gnaw away at our freedoms while we have people in power setting precedents that are wearing away the failsafes.
There are always people who would gnaw away at liberty.
They dwell in cities, on farms, in the north, in the south, &
even in halls of government. They surface all the time,
so panties needn't bunch up every time it happens.

Branding them "yokels" smacks of bigotry with hints of racism.
Keep your message pure...the point would be better made.

Here the opposite. Cops cannot even use guns to defend themselves...
Let alone civilians...
If you think the stories of guns amd America and guns are bad, you should look into their abuses of searches and seizures. It is so bad and out of hand, if you ever come here do not carry cash, because the thief to steal might be the popo.

For some of, depending on who you ask, technically it's not bigotry or prejudiced but rational responses targeting a repressor. So, for wanting to ban books and censor information, they are a bunch of fart sniffers.

Whaaaaat? I certainly hope you made up for it and married someone your parents hated, or at least became a floozie. .

.
Too many problems then and still, but once somethings are taken care of I plan on seriously making up some lost hoing around time. :D
But, as for marriage, anyone my mom hates and wouldn't be good for me, and to really torque my dad's jaw all of have to do is marry a black guy or atheist.

You mean like this???

"She was told by one of the library attendants that the library has been instructed to remove all books with a Christian message, authored by Christians, or published by a Christian publishing company," read a letter PJI sent to the charter school. "The attendant advised that the library would no longer be carrying those books. Indeed, our client was told that the library was giving those books away, and she actually took some."

One of the books deemed unacceptable was The Hiding Place, the biography of Corrie ten Boom. Ten Boom was a Dutch Christian who helped many Jews escape the Holocaust. She was later imprisoned by the Germans for her actions.

Christian Book Banning Begins—Where Do We Go From Here?
Luckily it was just one charter school doing it under their own policies rather than creating a state law like they're trying to do in Missouri.

How would it be bigoted or racist? Yokel is defined as a person who is naive, ignorant, and uneducated due to rural isolation. Is that inaccurate?
I'm from small town Indiana, and many members of my own family are yokels (that's why I stay off FB.)

Technically, his post was bigoted against rural folk.

Northerners....so many despise southerners, farmers,
& people who live in rural areas. We see threads like
this attacking them....all of them for every proposed law
like this. But they don't bristle at northern or urban people
with the same broadly aimed venom when liberty threats
originate there, eg, Bloomberg's stop-&-frisk or his once
advocating compulsory military service.

Religious schools get away with bigotry and censorship all of the time due to being private, so it's funny to see them squeal when the shoe is on the other foot.

Yeah. I wonder if all the Catholic and Christian private school in our area carry atheist literature or even books about evolution. Highly doubt it.

Liberals are so often ok with bigotry, so long as it
isn't against black folk or Muslims.
I dont disagree with that. And though my post more of a joke, rural Hoosier yokels are a thing. At least a few members on RF have moved out of that state, and living much happier being away from them. "Small town, small mind" does have a ring of truth their. It's not much different than me saying things like "they free Jesus so much they hate him and treat him like garbage." It's not any single word, but the combination and word order that intents it to be harsh and scathing. But, in the end, I haven't heard anyone telling me to leave since I left that craphole.

It is bigotry towards rural folk.
And since it's typically applied to rural whites
(like "redneck), it also smacks of racism.

They are the primary demographic that places those with an evangelical agenda in positions of power, are they not?
Are they?
I look forward to your evidence.
But nonetheless, would problems originating in predominantly
black areas justify using insulting epithets for them? Nah.
