It's... weird. Am I reading the map right? The Plaestinian state is surrounded by Israel, except West Bank?

Thoughts?

Mine are that this, like any other deal, can only work if the Palestinians are on-board, which is unlikely.
From what I glanced from the article, the Palestinians weren't on board with the formulation of the "deal" so that it is less a deal than an offer to discuss.

Deal of Century establishes Palestinian state, Jewish control of Jerusale

Trump has finally unveiled his complete peace plan for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

I doubt any American president will ever ‘unveil’ a useful peace plan.
They cannot, considering the enormous forces working against them, even IF we got a president that believed in goodness and truth.
Too much evil in the world, and presently, that evil is in control. (In the nations that have the capacity to make real change)

... and the Jordan river. I.e. water.
From the map it looked like Palestine would get some access to the River. Maybe I misunderstood the map?

Aren't those dark lines roads leading to the River?

But only thru Israel....& I assume their checkpoints.
Yeah, I guess...as you would have any international borders...
I wonder, though - if they had direct access to the Jordanian border - would Jordan have been on-board?

Roads, not pipelines. And yes, there was talk about a resort on the shore of the dead sea and agriculture in the Jordan river valley. But fight over water is one of the main problems and the map doesn't look as if that is going to be solved. It would be too easy for Israel to seal Palestina in whenever they like.
But it is a Trump "deal". He always likes to go in with an offer that is just on the edge of ridiculous and negotiate from there.

It's called "pandering", and Trump admits that this is what he is so successful doing in his book "The Art of the Deal", whereas he said he would do almost anything to "seal the deal", to use his words. Look how successfully he's conned the "religious right".

This article goes into a bit more detail:

Trump’s ‘deal of the century’ was written in a way so the Palestinians would reject it. Maybe that was the plan

It does give a few concessions to the Palestinians but probably not enough. And since the Palestinians were not involved at all in its crafting it is hard to blame them for rejecting it, if they do.
Yep, and he's pandering to not only the religious right but also to Netanyahu. the latter of which supported him in 2016. IOW, it's not likely really about peace-- it's about him.

BTW, notice that Bibi is being charged in Israel? Birds of a feather with Trump, ya know. Now the question is will Vladimir get jealous?

Interesting if Palestinians have a single representation of all parties involved?
