Why did God create parasites ?

Bugs that eat the tongues from fish, fly larvae that hatch inside frogs and eat them, wasps that zombiefy cockroaches, caterpillars being eaten from the inside out.

I don't see any benefit to parasites

Also, do flies serve a purpose because they carry germs. I know rats also carry germs but rats are cute

I suppose for population control. Also nature could teach us wisdom.

You could also ask the question of why God thought of those particular nefarious designs.

"Yes, I'm going to design a new animal today".

"It's going to get into a fish's mouth eat its tongue away, settle into the wound, and live the life".

Bwhahahaaa!!!!

Well, the bible calls [him] God of Hosts, so no surprise if in his all-wise benevolence [he] creates a few.

That is because god had nothing to do with it. Parasites evolved like everything else.

Parasites dont have nor do they need a reason. There is still holiness if we only suffer once. The trick is that the center or time is darkness, its about existing before and after.

Why does God allow parasites to exist?: Start with a wrong premise and you will always be confused.
The answer is simple that your God does not suffer the consequences of creation of parasites. He is safe, whatever happens to humans. How does it matter to him?
It makes me wonder who the saint of mosquitoes is?
Mosquitoes do not have a soul.

I don't see any benefits to parasites. They're not like carnivorous animals that kill their prey and then eat them- the parasites kill their prey BY eating them.

Not to mention SARS and Coronavirus came from consumption of carnivorous animals.

Maggots eat dead flesh, so without them there would be lots of rotting corpses.

Also, maggots eat the rotting flesh of injured creatures, which can help them.

Surely we should be admiring them, for being more efficient in missing out one step (and the danger involved). :D

Its cases like these when I think that God is like Dr Moreau. He merely creates things to test his skills and for exploration of what can be accomplished.

I'm not sure if we're equating flies and rats with parasites, but a parasite is an organism that survives off the nutrients of another organism. Flies and rats do not do this.

As for the question in the OP's title, it's possible that God created parasites so you could create a thread about them on RF.

Would you rather have a rotting corpse or a corpse that's going to rot anyway plus extra maggots?
