If God gave you one wish like solomon. What would you wish for?I would wish for what solomon wished for.:)

Our desires come from our hearts. Solomon (as the son of King David) knew that he would have huge responsibilities as his father’s successor, so instead of asking for wealth, he asked God for wisdom. Jehovah was so pleased with his request that he gave him what he didn’t ask for and Solomon became renown for both his riches and his wisdom. Israel enjoyed great peace and prosperity under Solomon’s reign. As a man of peace, Jehovah used him to construct his temple.

The interesting thing about Solomon is that his privileged life as a very wealthy Monarch, led him to disobey his God by marrying many foreign wives and concubines.....they were not worshippers of Solomon’s God and eventually led him into tolerating false worship. Sadly, in his old age, he lost the favour of his God. The lesson for us in that, is that we can never rely on Jehovah’s protection and blessing if we disobey his laws, no matter how wise we are.....Jehovah has always requested our obedience, our trust and loyalty before all else. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Seems smart.
I'm not JW. But if I recall correctly Solomon was smart.

I'm curious now. I might look up what he wished.

I thought a few times what I would wish. But could not decide. No wish seems good to me

I missed what you would wish for in your essay. Would it be brevity?

I like this Deeje. Very thoughtful, and insightful.
It gives one food for though. It sets me thinking about the model prayer, where Jesus gave us a template of the primary things of importance.
I also like when he said "Give us today our bread for this day", and "never be anxious about the next day".
So it makes sense to consider first what are our prime "responsibilities". and needs, and realize that putting those responsibilities first, our needs will be filled.

Since wisdom is, having the ability to put knowledge to right, or proper use, it seems the reasonable thing to do is acquire accurate knowledge. (Proverbs 1:7)

However, @Frank Goad it also takes wisdom to pursue knowledge, so asking for wisdom is a great choice (Proverbs 2), but as Deeje pointed out, it can become useless, if we don't act wisely. :)

I agree that wisdom is an excellent choice. Good judgement is important to oneself and others.

Selectively excluding valid information or using unfounded opinion based on subjective and transitory emotional appeal can be unwise.

Brevity, clarity, and relevance are also wise choices.

I am glad you found it constructive. Way too embrace the brevity.

I am not surprised that you found it to be constructive. Trolls often do.
I obviously stepped on your toes at some point and you have never forgiven me......it doesn't justify the smart Alec comments....it just makes you appear to be petty and childish.

Brevity is for those who have the attention span of a goldfish.....or no interest in learning more about the subject.
I like details because it gives a full picture....not just a few pixels. No one is forced to read what I write.....why don't you do us both a favor and just put me on ignore....please.

It isn't your smile that I love. It is the irony and dichotomy of your voluminous posts that attract me. Where else could I find such self-perception that is at odds with its own earthly expression.

I am fascinated by many things. They can be as simple as balloons, for instance. All the bright colors and shapes to draw the eye. They can be inflated by good air or bad. Watching one that is over-inflated on its own air can be an exhilarating experience. Sometimes they pop. Sometimes they fizzle around with raspberries.

There are some things that cannot be ignored.
