Ocasio-Cortez most likely doesn't have the guts to leave the Democratic Party probably for the same reason that Bernie Sanders ensures he has the "D" after his name whenever he runs for office. In the 2006 and 2012 Senate races, Sanders ran as a Democrat in the primary, then refused the nomination when he won so he could run as in Independent without facing a Democratic challenger.
AOC should leave the Democratic Party

To win an election, I suppose folks are stuck trying to fit into one party or the other.

If she was unhappy enough to leave it, I suppose she might. Otherwise, she's a more progressive (less establishment) Democrat than some. I don't see a problem with that.

AOC is the Democratic Party. Just like the Pubs are now the party of Trump, the Dems are the party of Cortez.

Seems to be changing pretty fast, its platform is further left than, ever?

The Democratic Party is the only viable political vehicle for anyone on the left in the US. That's just how it is, for the foreseeable future. All progressives with any sense of strategy understand this.

Outside of the non-food references, yes.

There are many people after AOC because she's challenging the establishment including the Democratic establishment. Establishment types hate being challenged.

And the Democratic party is not the Trump party where challenge is forbidden just like it is in China (although not as bad (yet)).

Vegetarian haggis and vegan black pudding are now available so hey, maybe I can give that a try.
Heard haggis and ice cream go well with each other too.
