In your understanding. How old is human race? and when was the first being alive on earth?

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
The title says it all :)
In this thread, I want to hear people's answers to when they think humans began to walk on earth, and when life started. I looking for years back in time.

A: How old is the human race in your understanding?
B: When did the first living being come to life? (not only on earth if life is other places)

I will not take part directly in the discussion but can answer questions directed toward myself.

In the case of the human race about half a million years, though this did not start with Homo sapiens.

In the case of life on Earth, from the evidence about 3.5bn years ago. We have no information about other places.

PS I hardly have the knowledge to know whether this is true, and the same goes for human life, but I have to trust those who seemingly do postulate such.

A: How old is the human race in your understanding?

6040 years.

We just now hit the year when Eve was born and Adam sinned 6040 years ago.

B: When did the first living being come to life? (not only on earth if life is other places)

Impossible to answer.

Living beings includes angels and demons.

God can, and is going to, kill some of them.

The penalty for sin, is death.

Peaceful Sabbath.

A: How old is the human race in your understanding?

In our current iteration as homo sapiens? About 200,000 years old.
B: When did the first living being come to life? (not only on earth if life is other places)

Microbes came to being about 3,700,000,000 years ago.

But that's just on earth. Given there are galaxies much older than ours, GNN-z11 for example, I think the first life ever likely came to being much earlier than that.

For human, there is a matter of definition. Modern humans, (Homo sapiens)was about 300,000 years ago in Africa. The genus Homo goes back about 2 million years.

The oldest evidence of life on Earth is from about 3.8 billion years. It is likely that there was life before that, but we don't know how much further back.

Life in the universe in general couldn't have started until after the first generation of stars produced the necessary elements (carbon and oxygen, for example), but currently we have no evidence of life other than on Earth.

It is not an easy question to answer. You would need to define "human" first.

So Adam sinned the year Eve was born?

Yes.

Was Eve in infant in the Garden of Eden?

No.

God put Adam into a deep sleep and made Eve out of one of his ribs.

She was born full size.

"So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man.

Then the man said,

“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.”i

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. - Genesis 2:21-25

Ah, yes. My brain has such trouble wrapping itself around humans being born as adults, I forgot the narrative.

Apologies. Carry on...

Einstein's brain had such trouble wrapping itself around the big bang.

No need for apologies.

God's ways are higher than our ways.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts. - Isaiah 55:8-9

With all due respect and sincerity, I'm curious to understand how, on the one hand you trust and rely on the products of science, but on the other hand you do not?

What's not scientific about the world's first successful rib transplant?

Indeed. I opted, somewhat arbitrarily, to go by the first evidence of building shelters or making tools. The first appearance of language would be a better definition, I think, but I presume we have no way of knowing when that occurred.

Just because scientific observation is right on one or more occasions, would that mean it is correct on all?

If the thermometer has a correct reading of 80°F in my fish tank, does that mean that radio carbon dating can be trusted to the same degree?

Should I risk eternal life on it?

“The kingdom of God is not coming in ways that can be observed, nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.” - Luke 17:20

I wouldn't trust any radio carbon dating done in your fish tank, regardless of the temperature.

I see all form Beings who are like us "walking on two legs and can think and do tasks like us" as human, so No to me Homo sapiens is not the first form of human beings, And different to many others i do not think current homo sapiens are the smartest or most wise who ever lived.
My take on it is that Homo sapiens are only the last being who is so-called smart beings. One other thing is I do not think current earth is the first one human beings have been living on.

Is it correct for me to infer that you agree with science only when it doesn't conflict with your interpretation of scripture?
