Has The US Just Declared War?

And has really not won any satisfactorily
How soon they forget. How about the major power Grenada? The invasion of Grenada was short and sweet and generated a major motion picture:

United States invasion of Grenada - Wikipedia

Heartbreak Ridge - Wikipedia

Clint Eastwood starred in it! That sounds like a sold win all the way around. Who knows what would have happened with Grenada's massive army (supplemented by Cubans) of less than 10,000 people could have done in the region?

Was that an undeclared war? Was it a war at all? The worlds greatest military might against a bunch of island hill farmers

Both are considered allies.
Read the following in Jackie Mason's voice....
"With allies like those, who needs enemies."
Iran is not minding it's own business so all you suggesting is let Iran do what it wants.
You don't really believe that things are so black & white?
I advise negotiating to cease hostilities.
If we stop being an existential threat to them, they'd
feel less need for nuclear weapons or greater military
influence in the area.

What? Me worry?
Both, i am bon wasting my time in a patriotic argument about the belligerent we can do what we want to you and that's ok but just you try it on us and you are in trouble because we have have the most powerful army to back up up.. attitude of a right wing militaristic government

Sooo..you saying we shouldn't protect ourselves and our interests?

I know you find it hard to believe but yes, its true
Let's consider our tactics to keep Iran in line so far....
- 1953 coup to replace an elected leader with the Shah.
- 1980-88 proxy war against Iran using Iraq (about 1M died).
- 1988 shooting down Iran Air flight 655.
- 2005-20?? Stuxnet

These are just the ones off the top'o me head.
We've spent a lot of money & killed many Iranians (& others)
over many decades. These measures haven't stopped Iran.
They might've even ramped up the conflict.
We should consider new tactics.

Being nice often works but i think there may be too much loss of face to even try

Aye, pride so often gets in the way of considering alternatives.
But I'm not advocating "being nice"....that has wrong connotations.
I say...
- Own up to our past wrongs against Iran.
- Compensate them for their losses.
- Negotiate peaceful relations.

You don't seem to realize that that's exactly what Iran is doing.
The real point to Obama's peace initiative was to reduce our threat to Iran, and thereby reduce their need to have a nuclear deterrent. And I'm sure it would have taken all of ten years to convince them that we would really stop attacking them, since we'd been doing so for so long. And when the Republicans in Congress made it clear that peace negotiations with the USA cannot even be trusted to outlast a presidential cycle, they made it clear to Iran that a nuke is their only guarantee of national security.

Only an idiot would think that is in the USA or global security interests.

Hold the phone, Tonto! This Iranian was in Iraq threatening American diplomats that were not in his country, nor were these diplomats a direct threat to him or his country. Only Hillary and Barrack are allowed to let our diplomats be killed with no retaliation. Thankfully, we have a President that cares enough about American diplomats to take preemptive action to save their lives. Bloviate away if you must, but this was a righteous hit.

I argue that the best
way to stop this enemy is to stop compelling them to be the enemy.
Yeah. That won't happen though. The war industry needs US to have enemies, otherwise they won't have their biggest customer. War is business, and Trump just made sure to provide a demand.

You do realize that this Iranian thug was actively planning to kill American diplomats who were trying to "be nice" in our dealings with that part of the world?

You have a very odd view of american diplomats, being nice???

And can i ask, where did your info come from, i am betting its its not from Soleimani but from an American source. Perhaps like the wmd i i
Intelligence used to drag britain into war alongside America
