A DIR on punctuation is long overdue: a much needed space to educate and inform.

Just for clarification, do you mean the marks used to delineate sentences and elements of the same? Or do you mean the rapid speciation postulated by the theory of punctuated equilibrium? Either would be useful--even topical.
