1815 ... 1 billion
1915 ... 2 billion
1955 ... 4 billion
2020 ... 8 billion
20?? ... 16 billion
???? ... 32 billion ?

Exponentiation.
Our systems are failing at 8 billion. Another doubling will destroy us if our lifestyle doesn’t change dramatically.

I have been quoting those figures for decades, and have been ridiculed for it. I think people are starting to get it now. But it is way too late now for anything but a major cull.

How do you get rid of billions of people ?
Viruses ? Radiation ? 5G ?

Because there is no other option as far as I can see.
The elites must surely have something in mind.
A horror of biblical proportions.

The survivors will be too traumatised to function if the cull is obviously orchestrated by the elites. So... maybe a fake alien invasion ?

I suggest everyone worried about the global population exploding watch the following lecture.

It is almost an hour long, but trust me - it's actually both entertaining and informative:

I suggest everyone worried about the global population exploding watch the following lecture.

It is almost an hour long, but trust me - it's actually both entertaining and informative:

When I was a kid I got very upset about deforestation. I was informed by everybody who ‘understood’ that I was worrying over nothing.
When raw effluent and garbage was being dumped in the ocean , an esteemed British expert ridiculed concerns, pointing out “the oceans are boundless”.
I have been observing population growth over the last 60 years, and sure enough, we will reach 8 billion exactly when predicted.

I am so over all these conservative voices of reason telling everyone to ‘calm down, nothing bad is happening’.

The oceans are full of plastic.
Fish stocks are disappearing.
The Amazon jungle is being cleared at a rate of a football field every five seconds. It is on fire. That is 20% of the world’s oxygen. OXYGEN !
The same thing is happening in Siberia.
Insect numbers have dropped 75% in the last 30 years.
There is a mass extinction taking place.

What does it take before people realise we are in an apocalyptic emergency ?

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

It would take an actual apocalyptic event.

We are collectively hardwired to respond to the real thing actually happening. Then we act.

Firstly, Hans Rosling wasn't a Conservative.

Secondly, have you watched the lecture and actually looked at the figures and evidence he presented? He doesn't argue "nothing bad is happening", he simply argues that the potential threat of overpopulation is overplayed because people assume that the global population will continue to increase at the rate it currently is - which isn't really a justifiable argument.

The real reason for the dramatic increase in global population is less to do with birth rates and more to do with people living longer. Eventually population increase will plateau and reach a steady level. Couple this with the fact that the availability of sex education and birth control are increasing, and that these demonstrate a dramatic effect on birth rates in both developed and undeveloped countries, then the global population increase is something that can actually be managed.

The thesis isn't "There is no problem", it's "The problem isn't what you think it is, and there are actually things we can do to minimize - if not entirely eliminate - the problem".

I think this is far more helpful and realistic than calling for a mass cull.

I didn’t call for a mass cull. I did suggest it may be a solution chosen by the elites.
I have seen the arguments saying that overpopulation isn’t a problem. I find them as believable as the assurances that we won’t see global deforestation or large scale pollution of the oceans.
Or global warming and climate change.

You don't have to employ conspiracy theories. We didn't have a pandemic for quite some time. It's over due and it will come. It always has.

The problem isn't what you think it is. It's not people wanting to eat, it's people wanting to drive cars, have heated or air conditioned homes, smart phones, TVs and refrigerators.
We are not a population in a closed system with a limited supply of food, we are a yeast that is pooping out a toxin that will kill it.
And yes, we know how to minimize the problem - but we don't act.

He doesn't say that overpopulation isn't a problem. He is explaining that the actual causes of overpopulation aren't what people think, and that there are things put in place that are already minimizing the potential problem.

Or global warming and climate change.
Then what flaws do you see in his arguments?

There is also a fact of life called K-extinction.
When the population density of any species reaches a genetically coded value, the population experiences an extinction event.

K-extinctions come in two forms - determinate and indeterminate.
A determinate K-extinction is predictable in form. An indeterminate K-extinction can take a variety of forms.

If you want all the detail, research and maths, read ‘Sociobiology: The New Synthesis’ by Edward O Wilson.

I didn't watch the video, although I would say that anyone who minimizes the effects of overpopulation would be in the same category as those who believe climate change is "fake news." If climate change is caused by human activity, then there's definitely a connection with overpopulation. In fact, that's probably the only major reason for climate change, when you really come down to it.
