Nothing can't be conceived, its neither light nor darkness. Why do you believe this danieldemol?
Because I don’t see it as possible for the Antichrist to commit anything more than a finite number of crimes during their lifetime, therefore any permanent punishment seems unbefitting of the crime.

Also because I believe the mercy of God is so great it will even surpass the sins of the Antichrist eventually.

eternity is not bestowed unto all

Interesting question with so many finer details adding to the dimensions of it.....

What does "eternal" mean? Is it the same as "everlasting"? The Bible's answer is no.

Something eternal has no beginning and no end....only one Being in existence has that claim.....the Creator himself. All things came from this "source of life". So "everlasting life" is what the Bible speaks about. This is a life that begins, but never ends. There is criteria for everlasting life to be offered.

Is everlasting life the same as immortality? Again, the Bible answers no.

An immortal cannot die.....yet God created humans as mortal beings. It doesn't mean that God intended for them to die...only that they could have their lives terminated if they didn't follow his rules. Imagine if he created creatures with free will whose lives could not end?! This is why the Bible does not teach that we have an immortal soul.....you would have to invent places for the wicked souls to go.....and they did..."hell". Such a place does not exist in the Bible however.

Disobedience was the only cause of death in the garden.....there was a "tree of life" there to guarantee that life would never end....old age, sickness and death would never have been in the human experience......but Adam failed his children by disobeying the only law there was.....and it wasn't even a difficult one. Sin was introduced into the world and aging sickness and death is all we have ever known....but in our hearts we know that death is not supposed to happen. If it was a natural part of life, we would accept it as such, but we fight to live because death is the end of life as we know it.

So if everlasting life in the flesh was possible in the beginning, and disobedience caused sin and death, how does God offer everlasting life.....and who does he offer it to?

got any notion to what is needed?

The Bible gives the answer....

Humans were put here to take care of the earth....they were given God's attributes in order to be up to the task. Being given free will without a knowledge of evil would have been a wonderful attribute, but since Adam decided to side with his disobedient wife, instead of sticking to his God, he unleashed evil into the world and marrying it to everlasting life would have been disastrous, so because God couldn't 'put the genie back' in the bottle, he used man's disobedience as a basis for their education.....a lesson in what happens when humans try to rule themselves without him.

This lesson has a time limit, and judging by what is prophesied to occur as proof that this time is coming to an close, I believe that we will not have to endure this situation much longer.

Along with the lesson, is the opportunity for each one of us to show God who we are and whether we want to include him in our lives....or not. The criteria for a place in God's Kingdom, which is the government which will replace all current rulerships of man. (Daniel 2:44)

It's simple....it needs heart felt allegiance to God, and a real effort to do what he has directed us to do through the teachings of his son, Jesus Christ.

As Jesus said......"Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day: ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’"
(Matthew 7:21-23)

Calling yourself a Christian, if Jesus doesn't recognize you as one of his own, will not get you citizenship in the Kingdom.....only those "doing the will of the Father" will be accepted as having the correct qualifications.

That means that we have to discern the will of the Father and then do it.....we also have to find the brotherhood who collectively does this as well, and are united in what they believe (1 Corinthians 1:10).....Christianity is not something one can practice in isolation.

My understanding is that eternal life is different from life after death.

I believe whatever state we are in mentally or spiritually we live on after we die physically.

But eternal life I believe refers to being quickened and revivified with the breaths of the Holy Spirit. So although we all live on in the next life, to those who have been quickened, the souls of those who haven’t, are as dead.

As Christ said ‘let the dead bury the dead’ indicating that true life is to be quickened by belief in God and other than that is similar to death.
