I am new and I'm sure you know that, is there a way to clear my alerts I've only been here barely two days and I can't keep up, and one person said something about me placing a post in the wrong category is there any way you could help me understand the categories better thanks, and also I was wondering about the warning points what gives you those cuz I don't want any.

Welcome to Religious Forums. :)

Click on the "alerts" box in the top right hand corner and scroll down to "alert preferences". You can also find "alert preferences" on the user box. (it has your profile picture, also top right hand corner). Once you've got it, clear a few of the options so you get fewer alerts.

(you've been here a day, posted 77 messages and got 10 likes- so the number of likes and responses is what is jamming it up probably).

...and also I was wondering about the warning points what gives you those cuz I don't want any.

You only get those if you break the rules. (See Forum Rules)

You alerts should clear automatically.

The categories mostly speak for themselves but if you misplace a topic it's not generally a rule violation and it will be moved. Please see the rules for how to conduct yourself and not have warnings given you.

Thanks.

so the other guy said if I get warning points or enough of them I can get a t-shirt or whatever so I get merchandise for breaking the rules?

Okay thanks the thread that I'm referring to is "faith?" So I put it in interfaith category however someone questioned it so was he just being obnoxious or was it in the wrong category?

Mods are the only people who can contact you with alerts. If it is deemed to be in the wrong category we will move it and notify you with an alert or sometimes a private message.

Oh LOL, I thought it was like if you collected so many warning points you get kicked off the site okay thanks
It depends.

You write interesting and thought provoking posts. You've never been mean, as far as I recall.
But the flip side of that is "If you never fail you aren't trying hard enough!"

Spread your rule violations out over time and you're good to go.

@Alone, the "Mark forums read" link... top left hand corner of the screen from the homepage. I think that does it. But hover over "Forums" first.. or click on it to see that option... it's a link...
