Year Month Day makes the most sense, then the whole number is correctly arranged to show temporal flow. Any two dates can be compared, the larger number is the later date.

We read left to right though so the fastest changing one should be first as that's often all we need to look at.

On average, the year is the least likely number we need to check.

What do Americans call these English delicacies?

Spotted Dick
Tripe & onions

My grandfather used to eat tripe and onions swimming in malt vinegar as an evening snack. To me tripe ranks close to marmite for yucky factor

Aha! But would you like a skɒn (rhymes with "gone") or a skəʊn (rhymes with "cone")?

Depends what region you are from and/or your "class" (i hate that word). Accents can be tricky but no matter if you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth or no spoon at all, its always spelled the same.

If you take off the 's' it's a cone.
If you take off the 'c' it's a one.

So it's a Skwone.

Wardrobe.

Took me forever to learn that US folks call this a closet, or worse, an armoire. A closet to me is a small room.

Armoire is a specific french style, something like this

But i am afraid the furniture industry has grabbed the chic name and applies it to boxes for the bedroom.

I am stuck with the word closet meaning toilet, water closet. Not the place i would like to store clothes.
