One of Mussolini's last words on the last day of his life was that his Spirit would return to a nation in need of a leader.
As a very religious man and the greatest promoter and defender of religion in the 20th century, Mussolini was obsessed with life after death, and dreamed of becoming more powerful after death.
In Rachel Mussolini's book he held seances and summoned ghosts and she even refers to him as superstitious , believing in the "evil eye".
Well, now that I seem to be the only one on Earth who knows this stuff, I must share regardless of consequence. Read Rachel Mussolini's book if you wish to have verification of what I say.
Mussolini's favorite visitor was Gandhi and favorite Saint was Saint Francis of Assisi and Mussolini was responsible for Saint Francis of Assisi becoming the patron saint of Italy. In honor of Saint Francis of Assisi detachment from luxury, Mussolini gave away all the money he made as prime minister as Charity and survived off the money he made from the newspaper he was selling prior to his rise to power. That would be like a president who didn't use any of the money we paid him as president of the United States but gave it all to charities.
During the war, Mussolini worked first hand with his wife to care for the sick and needy and feed the hungry. He refused to ever let his wife have fur coats or jewelry and when people raided his house after his death, they did not believe Rachel was really his wife, because they were expecting someone other than a peasant woman with eggs in her apron.
In her book, Rachel describes Mussolini as a peasant.
So, this all causes me to ask Il Duce, why on Earth would a nice guy like you choose somebody mean like Donald Trump to lead a nation?
The voice inside me responded, "because I couldn't find anybody worse. He is my black sheep dog. When the shepherd is gone and a flock needs to be protected, it is better to not have a nice dog."
