did jesus try to create hierarchies with his disciples, or followers? or show someone, anyone more reverence than another?

Some says he would favored Peter over the others, some Judas for to make the story of the betrayal more poignant, others Mary-Magdalene who might have been his wife/mistress/girlfriend. The Gospel is pretty scarce on gossip about how Jesus and his followers were living on a day to da basis with all its little drama. Like everybody else though, it wouldn't be surprising for the man to have better friends amongst his friends.

From what little I know, it doesn't seem so. However, he seemed to have acknowledged merits. He gave the church to Peter because he was the best fit for the position.

No. He mentioned Peter, 'Rock', as an example for all to follow/copy. He didn't want hierarchies.

I don’t think so, because he said:

For they bind heavy burdens that are grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not lift a finger to help them. But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad, enlarge the fringes of their garments, and love the place of honor at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called 'Rabbi, Rabbi' by men. But don't you be called 'Rabbi,' for one is your teacher, the Christ, and all of you are brothers. Call no man on the earth your father, for one is your Father, he who is in heaven. Neither be called masters, for one is your master, the Christ. But he who is greatest among you will be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
Mat. 23:4-12

Oh yes, you must create the order the world thrives on and which it is founded upon; being love, pacifism, faith, and so forth.

He definitely formed a hierarchy of sorts with appointing the Twelve and giving them the power of the binding and loosening of sins. Matter of fact, the mark of the Church was whether your leaders could be traced back to the apostles, and in the 4th century these later appointees selected the canon of the Bible used by most Christians.
