What Have You Done For Your Country Lately?

So, I don't do much, but try not to snap into a slim jim crazy, and attempt to establish a little joy, peace, happiness, and comfort in life. I'm speaking of my own of course. I couldn't even begin to pretend I could establish any of this for anyone else. So, how about you? What have you done for your country lately?

Well I did have a stint in the military. I think the best thing you can do for your country is, keep working to help maintain job security and keep your workplace afloat , spend here and there to help drive the economy, and show your appreciation even if it's little as putting an American flag sticker bumper on your car or hanging an American flag outside your house.

I work - pay taxes, keep my nose clean, educate my children, spend money on goods - paying more taxes, recycle, and own property - paying even more taxes. There's probably a lot more that needs done, but I find that those things take up quite a bit of the time that I have to offer already.

I am retired now but when in business i employed people, i provided service to government and military, i paid tax, lots of it and did a considerable amount for local charities?

What if there's not enough freedom to pursue what your great at and instead some would prefer you to work much much much harder for much much much less? How about equal opportunity and the in-opportunity for equal opportunity? It'd be nice to open up some channels ya know? They could do that for our country but they don't, won't, refuse to do what they could do for me and you and who knows who too.

I start with self. I think it works best. I mean rather than do for what you have absolutely NO control over, look in the mirror and say ... HEY, I'm looking out for you kid. Then maybe venture into community efforts, or it could be a bit of both when community is in agreement with lifting others or at least with the opportunity to allow others to lift themselves.

Me too, but then when or if we discard others and/or neglect to consider others who are our neighbors can we hope to ever find a peaceful or satisfying coexistence? I see and live the struggle daily ... as do many others. I prefer coops and resolutions and acceptance and understanding, but then others seem to be only about self and those who can help them in current situations. It seems selfish is all ... as if I only help you because you can help me immediately, but if and when you can no longer help, I'm moving on to those who can and leaving you behind. That's what I see anyway. If I can do for me and not need to lean on others I'll be a lot better off, but if I neglect others I could never hope to ever call on them if or when I might need them ya know?

But then if a person can find balance between work and play and adopt a work for toys so I can play harder mindset, I'd think quality of life would increase. Taxes help on a broad scale, work helps individually and what you spend your money on after the fact will determine quality.

Yeah, I feel all that.

When I said I only do for people and animals I know personally, that isn’t quite true. I tried to save a woman from a burning house last year, and I give regularly to the lost dog’s home. So I am prepared to help strangers.

I can’t deal with the idea of calculating who I help and who I don’t anymore.
Too many ‘friends’ (and lovers, and family) have walked away when I needed them, so I am pretty much done with ‘special bonds’ of any kind now.

If you and I are within spitting distance, and you need help, I’ll probably help. But I find it’s best not to make any assumptions about reciprocation.

In the end, it’s about how I sleep at night. I don’t care if I get ‘paid back’ anymore. I’ve learned to not expect it. As long as I’m good with my own heart, I’m good.

I think this is the first time in American history were nobody likes the leaders that they have on both sides of the Isle.

It's an indicator that we've lost considerable influence and control to another set of individuals with a different type of agenda than what the general populace wants.

The question is can it be corrected? Can it ever be corrected?

It always comes down to where we are at the mercy of the leaders 'we'* choose.

We've had undesirable choices since early as 2016 as candidates seemingly comes across as more selected, rather than voted.

New American Citizens? O.K... I like Trump. I switched political parties for Trump. There's a reason I like Trump and switched. I liked Obama also, and Clinton, and Gore, etc. With the propaganda, clipped clips and sound bites, lack of communication, as in confusion in freedom of speech, the animosity, the partisan politics, and the so called loyalty to this part or that party and the to hell with this country attitude our party must win mindset, it's no wonder this country has been in grid lock for decade upon decades. The I'm right you're wrong mindset, the I'm better than you because .... and the whole I know this way is better because it's better for me way of viewing and approaching life and religion and politics and social change and whatnot causes so much unrest and chaos and animosity and civil issues we can't seem to see the forest for the grain of sand in our eye. If you ask me, and I know you didn't, but I'm gonna tell you anyway... I think it best to own who you are, embrace who you are, try to cause no harm, live your life and be happy. Beyond that, I think motivation for better education and life quality should be pursued as well as doing the best we can to improve on all fronts in both products technology science health art ... well ... everything. When we get lazy and things get too good or easy we lose a few steps. If we're to make america great, then why not be great? Easy enough isn't it, or is it? So many damn road blocks it's difficult to buy a sandwich without losing your soul.
