Many thought at that time also that lucid dreaming is nonsense until it was then some years ago scientifically proven.

Man has a soul and the soul of man is able to go out of his body. There are many reports of Astral projections on the internet and they work.
But since this is forbidden in God's eyes, one should neither do lucid dreams nor practice astral travel.

Yes, there are many reports on the internet. I do not believe everything on the internet. I have seen NO proof that a soul can go outside the body. Do you have any proof other than some garbage on the internet?

I'm an agnostic on astral projection, although I tend to be highly skeptical. If it happens, it seems to happen most often in the minutes just before or after death. It has nothing to do with demons, and is entirely a natural phenomenon if it occurs at all.

According to scripture (KJB), "No". What it is, is actually a demonic (devil) hypnotic implant, that makes one believe they have left their body. In effect, what they have done is allowed satan (and/or devils) access to their mind, by submitting it to such through hypnosis, blanking the mind, centering, etc, and then the devils have access to all their senses. There is no such thing as an 'immortal soul/spirit' that lives inside a person to go traveling anywhere. God created mankind from the dust of the earth and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man (Adam) "became" a "living soul". This may help you:

I’m a Methodist as well. No, astral projection is not possible. It’s a concept embraced by New Age , which is the occult.
