I thought that I would give it a shot, check out how an inclusivity forum works out, but this simply is not the place for me.

I fit in best on atheist forums.

Being here on this forum feels as though I am having the oppressive shackles of religion placed back on when I worked so hard on removing them.

Thank you for having me, nonetheless.

Take care.

You've been here for two months. This is a bit flippant at best.

But that 60 days Rival! There must have been at least two people claiming to be Jesus to joined the forum in that time. The guy deserves a medal! :D

You find atheists forums to be inclusive? They welcome discussions about God from those who believe in them and treat them as equals to themselves? Things must have changed while I was asleep. Last I noticed, there were self-appointed rationalists at the door guarding against religious incursions, with torches and pitchforks in hand screaming "woo woo" to those who approach bearing any remotely religious beliefs in hand. ;)

Well, maybe not all are as bad as some are, but hardly from what I've seen should be considered eclectic and inclusive of diversity of views, not nearly as open minded as their emphasis on reason might wish to suggest.

Maybe things have changed. Best to you on your path.

I remember when I wanted to leave too. I wish you best on your search, I just know that giving up is a means of not really understanding where people come from, just making a blanket judgement that they're not ready for you or you're not ready for them.

Take care.

Perhaps I was unclear.

The problem is there is too much inclusivity here, to the point where unrealistic religious concepts are treated as valid when they should not be.
Ahh, yes, postmodernism run amok, you're saying? Like saying all opinions are equally valid, regardless of support? I don't exactly get that vibe here from the site as a whole, though there are certainly those who misapply the truth of relativism to mean "all opinions are equally valid". I have seen that here, but I wouldn't call it the dominant view. That's not what relativism actually teaches. Even relative truths, have to have support.

But the alternative I find more offensive, that only certain types of thinking, such as rationalistic, or religious, are valid. In my experience, atheists forums are not inclusive in a true postmodernist, or even in integralist ways. They tend to be very much caught in the Modernist, as well as premodern "we're right and they're wrong" mentality, which makes them more like a lot of the Christian forums in that way. They have the "real" truth, with science as authority, rather than the bible.

Never got shackleized in the first place, so
I dont worry about "back on".

I sure would not want to stick around if I
felt that could happen tho!

Sorry to see you go, you do have dedicated
allies in the quest to quash creoism.

I've never even looked in a atheist forum,
seems like it would be preachin' to the choir.

You will get another buffet laid out for you
if you go prodigal and come back. :D

They are only treated as valid by the validationists
themselves.

and my belief puts me out on a limb

so here I am

Sorry to see you go - I feel this site needs more voices of reason. But I entirely get it. This is going to be blunt, brash and probably insult a bunch of people, but oh well. I've always said I shouldn't have a job where I was consistently faced with situations that made me question my faith in humanity - and this site certainly has its moments that bring you to that sort of precipice. Waiting for the internet equivalent of a "Candid camera" crew to hop out and tell you that the conversation you're having isn't real... because if it is real you have no choice but to fear for the world your kids are growing up in - and then you're forced to face the ultimately devastating reality - that those people you are talking to probably feel pretty much the same way about YOU. I've been there plenty of times... and sadly I'm probably inured to it. Makes me a good one for the trenches though. Oh well... back at it. Good luck to you.

oh so....you're on a mission to save what's left of humanity?

yeah right

I'm laughing at the atheists becoming upset because there are religious people with religious ideas on a religious forum.

Jeez.
You should not, @Rival

Not everything that claims to be deserving of being called "religious" is equally valid. Not by a very long shot.

For that matter, not everything that claims _not_ to be religious is equally deserving of being acknowledged as such either.

The word has become nearly meaningless - or perhaps worse - in and of itself.
