Time: Does the Bible say what Time is?

I understand Time as a period that passes.
how will one measure a moving object travelling away from point a into space.
We will say, it travells at say, 10 Km per hour.
How do we find an hour?
We need the period measurement as the Earth traversed the Sun.
How do we get distance? (The Km)
We need a pre determined measurement of distance.
Now, Distance is easy, we can measure the earth, divide it up into smaller sections and call it our measurement.
We can even divide the distance between the sun and earth into smaller useable measurements.
Therefore, to get Distance, we need an object occupying a large area., this is called Space.

Ok, so distance is not a problem, we will use the Km measurement.
Now we need to find the period of a travelling body in space, to determine the time it took to travel the KM.
This is where we need 2 objects moving in relation to each other.
We can use the Sun and Earth because it moves in relation to each other.
We will then divide this movement up in measureable unist, and in this case we will use the Hour.

Now, we could also have used other moving bodies such as 2 distant stars encircling each other to create our own measurement of time, but be as it may.
To measure Time, you need 2 moving bodies, and measure the period it takes to travel around itself.
Now, it is also possible that both these bodies can travel through space at the speed of light, but we wont know, because we can only observe the movement in relation to each other.
It might also be that one of these bodies are stationary!
But, again, we wont know, because we have only these 2 reference points to observe.
Now, lets do an experiment.
Stop everything, no movement.

What do we get?
No time.
Therefore, Time is the measurement of matter moving in space.
Remove matter, and Time seizes to exist.
If God created matter, He came before Matter, and Space, therefore He is not affected by Time at all.
Once again, no movement does not mean no time. A page of nonsense does not help you.

There are many ways of measuring time, but guess what. The definition of a second, which all time is based upon, comes from light.
Not true at all pal.
This is the definition now given on how fast light will travel over a specific distance.
Science decided to take a better measurement of time and decided to take speed of light, and divided it into a measureable unit to get to the second.
Guess what?
They use the terminology of "Second".
Guess where they got the "second" from.
They took the "second", from the Solar Time system, look how far light will travel in that second, and took the Meter to formulate a much more acurate "second".
Now lets see what this renders.
If we want to measure the second with your new "light meter", you will have to find a starting point in space and an end point in space.
Even if it is your 1 meter ruler, you will still need 2 points at a specific distance.
Now you have to send a photon from one point to the endpoint.
You will have a measurable speed.

Great, now in theory, stop the photons! (I know it is impossible, but look at the theory)
can you measure time now?
All science did was to replace the earth and Sun; with a starting point in space, and a photon.
2 moving points in space.
One stationary, and the second one moving at the speed of light.
if they both stop, time can not be measured.

.. that is, his existence was entirely without change, including whatever he consisted of.
That is my concept o Brahman in 'Advaita' Hinduism. But what is change? If an electron is whirring, it will keep on whirring all the time, that is no change. Change is something which changes its whirring. Brahman is not static. It is inherently and eternally dynamic, like a particle in Feynman's diagram. It was whirring at the time the universe was formed, it will keep on whirring till the universe lasts. The word 'change' has to be understood.

So, does God have sex, with whom, a female God, and have baby Gods?
Yeah, that is the belief in main-line Hinduism (though my beliefs are different). Lakshmi, Parvati, Saraswati are female deities and spouses to male deities. Parvati has two Children, Ganesha and Kartikeya. Rama, Krishna and Buddha (the incarnations of Lord Vishnu) too have their spouses (Krishna seemingly has eight) and children as well.

Without time there could be no movement because time and movement cannot be separated.
Without movement we cannot measure time and vice versa thus without time there is no movement.

Big bang time. Which happened first, time or movement or did they happen simultaneously since one cannot exist without the other?

What you just did was to say movement is imaginary, then you just hopped over and accuse the Bible of being false.
In my belief (Advaita Hinduism), both time and movement are imaginary, illusions, classified as 'maya'. Only amplitude is real.

Time is nothing more than a period that has been assigned by man. Time passes the same in light as it does in darkness.
OK, so lets remove light totally from the equation in our solar system.
We will not see where the movement of the Sun in relation of our Earth will be, and we will therefore not be able to determine day and Night.
Now lets switch the Sun on, and we will now have the sun's rays falling on a turning Earth.
Now we can measure the first day, and the first night.
great, now we can create the measurement of Hour and second, and call this our "Measurement of Time.
OK, so before the Sun started to shine, I did say that Time existed, but it was not measured in Solar Time, because we only started to measure when the sun started to shine.
lets continue, therefore, from the first particle of matter was created by god, time started to exist as a byproduct of this matter moving in relation to each other.
Conclude, this means that since the "In the Beginning" up untill the "First Day", time existed, but it was not measured in our Solar system Time.
This was what I said, the Bible does not say the universe is young, it says the universe is in existance prior to the advent of the first day, in an era of zero measured time.

You will age in light or dark. The earth will rotate whether the sun shines or not. Time is a period assigned by man.

Go tell your dog he can have a treat in a hour. He will have no concept of what you are talking about.
Does any other animal have a concept of time?
-night dwellers only go by darkness
-day dwellers only go by light
-most migrating species go by season.

-do others species grasps what we assign as time?

It has been more than 30 years since I wore a watch. :D
It is not that I am unaware of time, but a watch on the wrist seemed like a shackle of slavery.

I seem to misunderstand your intent on your post.
Are you bragging, or complaining?

Neither. Just stating reality. We are the only species that assign a period with time. Your dog, geese, trees, etc know nothing of time. However some will try to claim a season as time, but again a season is only measured with time by us.

I understood what you said.
And you are right.
But from my view, light does not dictate Time at all.
All it does is to show us where the Earth is in relation to the Sun.

Time is a tricky concept, an accurate definition remains elusive despite the fact that many qualified (and not so much) people have tried. I know of 14, there may be more.

I believe you are discussing the human concept of time as related to orbital mechanics. A dodgy idea considering over universally short periods the orbit of the earth, solar system and galaxies are rather chaotic. On short time scales the earth is moving away from the sun at around 6 inches a year, slowly making the earths orbit greater and hence the years longer, a true blow to the human concept of time.

I see time as a measure of entropy, the arrow of time.

My cat knows when i should serve her breakfast and dinner, she knows precisely what time to snooze and when to wake for the local shop opening so she can watch the customers come and go.

The historical value of a second does not matter. That is changing the subject. What matters is the current definition:

"Although the historical definition of the unit was based on this division of the Earth's rotation cycle, the formal definition in the International System of Units (SI) is a much steadier timekeeper: it is defined by taking the fixed numerical value of the caesium frequency ∆νCs, the unperturbed ground-state hyperfine transition frequency of the caesium 133 atom, to be 9192631770 when expressed in the unit Hz, which is equal to s−1.[1]"

Exactly what I said.
Today we are using radio decay, or speed of light travelled in a certain distance, man, you can even use the Centaur angle to alpha 147648 to determine the second.
It will still not change the fact that you devised a clockwork to determine Time.
What are you measuring?
A Fixed period of time that elapsed.
Remove your clockwork.
How will you know there exists any Time?
Remove all moving matter, or freeze it, even your caesium clock.
How will you know Time exists.
All you did was to find a substitute for the Sun and Earth, and replaced it with either light, or radio decay rate, or vibrations in quarts etc.

Two problems (at least)

First, light cannot be seen, its frequency is far higher than the human eye can detect. Only its effects on objects xsn be seen.

Second the speed of light differs depending on the substance it is traveling through. Light in vacuum travels 299,792,458 metres per second. About 90,000 metres per second slower in air at sea level and 61,155 metres per second in liquid sodium. And it can be stopped.

Yes... Stopped Ulta Slow and Stopped Light
