Thanks, donny, by allowing Turkey to attack the Kurds who fought along side us in the battle against the terrorists, the terrorists see an opening in the chaos Turkey created. Many innocent victims which probably will include Americans will be on your head. Even the Republican cowards in the Senate are speaking out again what you did. I'm sure you'll be calling all of them traitors soon and asking your followers to primary them.

ISIS Rears Its Head, Adding to Chaos as Turkey Battles Kurds

The Turkish invasion of Kurdish-held territory in northern Syria raised new fears of a resurgence of the Islamic State on Friday, as five militants escaped from a Kurdish-run prison and the extremist group claimed responsibility for a bomb that exploded in the regional capital.

As Turkish troops launched a third night of airstrikes and ground incursions, Kurdish fighters said they had thwarted a second attempt to break out of a detention camp for families of Islamic State members.

Inmho...what Europeans did in 1683, that is defending Vienna from the Ottoman Siege, is considered an act of Islamophobia by him

The Syrian Kurds have military weapons, training and combat experience. Please let's agree the time has come for them to bravely fight their own battles without the risk of American soldiers getting harmed or killed. America's best own self-interest is to stop being involved with endless wars in Godforsaken crap-hole places.

The Kurds are natural enemies with the Turks. Imho, there's no need for America to recklessly interject our military into this endless conflict.

I'm more concerned about the lives of American soldiers and American citizens than I'm concerned about the lives of foreigners. I think lots of Americans feel the same way about putting America first.

The remnants of ISIS is more a threat to the Middle East and Europe than to the United States, I think we should just let them deal with the few remaining Syrian ISIS members.

I reckon these suspected ISIS members imprisoned by Kurds in Syria will soon enough become Turkey's responsibility, I suppose the Turkish justice system will get to determine who of these captives by Syrian Kurds are ISIS members worthy of being executed.

Rather than sitting around while wanting American soldiers risking their lives to stand in arms-way for sheltering their Syrian Kurdish friends, able-bodied persons who really care so much about their Syrian Kurd friends should themselves go to northern Syria and help their Syrian Kurd friends fight off the Turks.

Yep. And we all expect that Trump will order all US troops back before his term ends (prematurely).
Otherwise this small retreat from a single place would look like a gift to Erdogan and not like a principled stance on involvement in foreign affairs.
Wanna bet?

I'm refusing your bet, because you're being too overly optimistic about the role of our American military transitioning from being the world's policeman to becoming a national defense force.

The Turks and the Kurds should get together and kick Assad to the court in the Hague,

How many people over so many years have been lam blasting through the rooftops that we should get out of Middle East affairs.

Trump does just that.

Still not satisfied or happy, they're all yelling just the opposite now.

Freaking make up one's mind for a change.

We can hope. Trump is the anti-Christ but I do think he needs to bring all of our troops home. No more empire, thanks.

Kurd's problem as they could have handed over the prisoners to Assad or Baghdad long ago. The Kurds want to carve out their own nation state as they refused to acknowledge Assad October 8th. The US has no obligation to defend the Kurds as they enact their own agenda.

Yep. And we all expect that Trump will order all US troops back before his term ends (prematurely).

There were only 150 troops in the area in question. It was a DMZ. More forces would need to be redeployed as now SDF and Turkish military units are in the area short of a complete withdrawal by both sides. I doubt that will happen as the SDF is a rebel group

Otherwise this small retreat from a single place would look like a gift to Erdogan and not like a principled stance on involvement in foreign affairs.

Turkey is a formal ally. The Kurds are not. The Kurds are a rebel group. The US has no reason to use it's troops to protect the Kurds while the Kurds do whatever they want. The Kurds played the US. They let that cat out of the bag a few days ago.

Trump has encouraged Turkey. What if Russia gets involved? They have a grudge against Turkey. Instead of Syria, American soldiers will now go to Saudi Arabia. Iran too will bomb an Allied tanker or do something of the sort. The theater changes.

Russia will side with Assad against the Kurds.

They have a grudge against Turkey.

That grudge isn't enough for Russia to flip. It didn't attack Turkey when Turkey was taking parts of NW Syria. It isn't going to flip for the Kurds. Russia isn't going to risk closure of the Black Sea for the Kurds.

Instead of Syria, American soldiers will now go to Saudi Arabia.

KSA is key to the petrol dollar which is the USD. Syria nor the Kurds are important compared to that.

Iran too will bomb an Allied tanker or something of the sort.
