Jeremiah 29:8-9
8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.
9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.

This reminds me so powerfully of just one group in particular
Jehovah Witnesses..
JW's came out of the Miller church - after the Millerites made many
failed predictions about the coming Messiah.
Only JW's were worse - they made a series of failed predictions from
about the American Civil War, right through to 1975.
All of them failed, spectacularly.

From verse 5.....
“This is what Jehovah of armies, the God of Israel, says to all the exiled people, whom I have caused to go into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon, 5 ‘Build houses and live in them. Plant gardens and eat their fruit. 6 Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Become many there, and do not decrease. 7 And seek the peace of the city to which I have exiled you, and pray in its behalf to Jehovah, for in its peace you will have peace. 8 For this is what Jehovah of armies, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let your prophets and your diviners who are among you deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams that they are dreaming. 9 For ‘they are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them,’ declares Jehovah.”’”
10 “For this is what Jehovah says, ‘When 70 years at Babylon are fulfilled, I will turn my attention to you, and I will make good my promise by bringing you back to this place.’
11 “‘For I well know the thoughts that I am thinking toward you,’ declares Jehovah, ‘thoughts of peace, and not of calamity, to give you a future and a hope. 12 And you will call me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.’
13 “‘You will seek me and find me, for you will search for me with all your heart. 14 And I will let you find me,’ declares Jehovah. ‘And I will gather your captives and collect you together out of all the nations and places to which I have dispersed you,’ declares Jehovah. ‘And I will bring you back to the place from which I caused you to go into exile.’
15 “But you have said, ‘Jehovah has raised up prophets for us in Babylon.’
16 “For this is what Jehovah says to the king sitting on the throne of David and to all the people dwelling in this city, your brothers who have not gone with you into exile, 17 ‘This is what Jehovah of armies says: “Here I am sending against them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and I will make them like rotten figs that are so bad they cannot be eaten.”’
Can you see in context who Jehovah is talking to, and what he is talking about?
After their 70 year captivity in Babylon the Israelites were told to that they would return home to Jerusalem. He foretold a time of restoration of true worship and a time of rebuilding and peace with God.
But false prophets were telling the people lies in Jehovah's name.....God foretold calamity for them.
Is that what you wanted to know? Read chapters before asking your questions Frank......please.
Well that is imaginative.....we weren't even in existence at the time of the civil war....

It might be helpful to look at when Jeremiah lived and who he was speaking to...….

What does one THINK this Law be saying?
Well, whatever you have come up with..it is right..but more WRONG. This is what happens when one is living in a Lie.
If YOU do not believe in GOD..than YOU SHALT BELIEVE A LIE!..TRUST ME!..IT ALREADY IS!
These Laws are the Words of God..The Words are Divine.
This ‘Law of Commandment from God’ is saying..that ONE should kill ALL their ‘NOTs’.
(Not)..might be a mis-understanding,
(Not)..might be a dis-agreement,
(Not)..might be from Ones ‘Will not’.
One should now know with alongside of those means..
(Think) about it now, of which you knew of its before meaning..it would still birth a killer.
But the True meaning of the Word(divine) is the Absolute ‘TO BE’ from the START!
Which means it will stop a killer (BEING) born..
(Not)..is the reason for all in your confusions.
Now Go!..Withdraw all your NOTs..and find Me.
Hint: NOT is the representative of ONEs [BODY]...for I leave this with you to ponder with.

Christian prophecy (as opposed to those already fulfilled with the closing of the Old Testament) is as follows -
The Gospel will be preached in all the world
Jesus will be believed upon by the Gentiles
Kings will be amazed at His disfigured figure upon the cross
The Jews will be exiled into all the world
"Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the Gentiles time is fulfilled"
The Jews will return to their homeland and take it back with the sword
Enemies to the far north and the Middle East will attack Israel but be defended by an ally not known to the bible authors
(Not sure about this Armageddon thing...)
The nations will mourn the coming of the Messiah, this time as king.
We are at least half way through this list.
Your messiah hasn't even fulfilled any of the messianic prophecies, so it's pretty brazen of you to propose new ones.

A lot of these prophets spoke of the broken covenant with Israel and the coming Messiah,
I put it to you the guys who wrote this lived in the latter part of the Roman empire, or shortly
thereafter. After all, how could they have known about the end of Israel and the Messiah?
Some guys, such as Isaiah and Ezekiel, spoke about a SECOND RETURN of the Jews to
their homeland. These guys lived back in the 1950's or 1960's.

Which part?
We know from the Old Testament that the Messiah will come, first as Redeemer and then
as King. Christians hold that Jesus is the Redeemer.
With the coming of the Messiah Israel will go into exile or death - that happened.
The Gentiles embraced the Jewish Messiah - that happened
The Gentile's time is "fulfilled" could be now - with the fall of Christianity
The fall of the churches is now under way - the collapse/politicization of religion.
The Jews are returning to Israel - right now.
This part is fulfilled.
The rest is about wars and the second coming of the Messiah, this time as King.
Messiah is a King. Jesus was not a king. He doesn't get a second chance.
No, quite the opposite; they'll return and the ten lost tribes with them.
But the Jews didn't.
Fail.
I don't even know what this means.

So where are the ten lost tribes? Where's the world peace? The messiah king? The worldwide knowledge of the G-d of Israel as G-d?
The irony is it is referring to the Babylonian Talmud, and other Pharisaic writings that have now become the stock of modern Rabbinic Judaism.
The original context was the Jews in Babylon making up texts, whilst exiled among the Gentiles.
Then the Pharisees (John, Paul, and Simon) corrupted the message of Yeshua after, by making up even more texts whilst in exile.
