Hey @Rival , maybe you know , maybe you don't.... Here is another Noachide!
I have been encountered by them but can only see them in dreams. I can notice them but nowadays it's very rare I notice them. In very rare occasions I have been able to see them. Some years ago I found out that my sister saw the same entity in an apartment we lived in when we grew up. We had seen it independently from each other.

I decided many years ago to close myself from all this and since then it's very rare I notice anything. I kind of regret it now. I don't know how to open up myself again. But there have been several times I have been encountered by someone who claimed to be the Devil.

Most of the times it was when I was asleep but it also happened a few times when I was awake. This was also long time ago now. I was encountered by a spirit the other night. I was surprised but don't remember so many details. I don't live in my country so I can't remember if that spirit spoke my native language or not.

I live with one who talks to those who have passed at will. It's so pervasive that she had learned to how to tune out the "chatter". I do not have this gift(?), but having been with her on many occasions when she has let someone come through to comfort a grieving relative (in most cases she has just met the relative, so she has no pre-knowledge of the decease entity) has shaken any skepticism I may have had. I don't call myself a believer or disbeliever, I simply say I don't "not believe". BTW, don't get me started about the auras and orbs...
Fascinating! Truly!

You were sort of "forced" into believing things like that, huh?

I hope these entities / intelligent beings never become harmful to you or your wife./ LifePartner.

I can't say I've had any overt interaction, but on two occasions I felt something. My dogs also detect something. With my dogs, especially my female, it's as if she's paying attention to something. She'll sit upright in my lap (she's a Shih tzu) and will look up at the ceiling or high on the wall. Now, it's entirely possible she just hears something outside. Dogs' hearing is many times more acute than a human's. When she does that I don't get a bad feeling, it's actually kind of calm and almost amusing. I ask her if she's seeing and hearing, or talking to gandharvas and apsaras (celestial musicians and dancers in Hinduism), or even angels.

My own experiences were that I was in my recliner one night watching tv or reading. I felt a coldness, a creepiness and a dread. I got up, got a small picture of Narasimha, the lion avatar of Lord Vishnu and placed it on the table next to the recliner. From that moment on I never had that cold feeling again. Though there are times the house feels "dark" and lonely.

The second time it was during the day, the house felt "off". Now, I say the house is "sick". There is a lot wrong with it, structurally, physically and I think spiritually. We will be moving after the new year, hopefully sooner. The house belonged to my in-laws who were both elderly and ill. The house always seemed unwell.

I had had enough of the feeling of "offness", so I lit incense and walked around the house with it while ringing my puja hand bell. I also said loudly "I don't know who or what you are, but you better get out before I call on Kālī Mā to kick your *** into another dimension. Enough! Get out!" It wasn't long before the feeling went away.

But we're still moving. :D

Generally speaking, don't do anything harmful to them, and they won't do anything harmful to you.

There are some that won't follow that advice, nor recognize that some are to use a simple analogy, oil vs. water. Humans often term the ones we don't get along with as 'evil' but that isn't a useful category to me. For whatever reason, they don't want to get along with us (or they do, but we're harmful to them), or we don't want to get along with them (or we do, but they are harmful to us)...

Still asked a trusted master about it, he told me there was no way to make this one go... Living with it is exhausting, sometimes. But well, I'm kinda stuck, so

It could be the husvaettir (Icelandinc and Old Norse) for house spirit. They are indeed tied to the house and are reluctant to move. The Norse, and by extension modern Icelanders, believe in a host of different types of vaettir... wights, spirits. Some are benevolent, some are indifferent, some are mischievous and some are downright malicious. Sometimes an offering of some food or drink will make them happy. I've heard they like liquor, because a drink house spirit is a happy house spirit.

Interesting story. Yes, all the pets I've ever had have seen and listened to things I usually can't hear or see. Usually...but if I relax, use averted vision and allow my attention to broaden, I can often become aware of what they are watching.

Personally, I never threaten any of the other-than-human persons I become aware of. I do cleansings around the house, especially when we change something significantly; I explain what we are doing and why, and remind them that one day we and all humans will be/are part of the same environment, and will be food for their kinds; and we make offerings to them as well.

After we got the addition built onto our house, we had a large doorway between the old and new parts. We decided that we wanted french doors there, so we could close off the two parts to save on heating/cooling, etc. At first, we often kept the doors closed, and several times a week we would hear loud bangings and crashings, as if glass was being dropped and shattered, or metal objects thrown about. We could never find any source.

Then a friend told us about trooping elves. When we leave the doorway open even a little, we have no problems; when we shut it, we often do have the noises. When that happens, we burn some incense, call to the elves, and remind them that if the door is closed, there are other routes through the house that they can follow.

We had to do that shortly after the doors was installed, about 13 years ago. We started having the noises and did it again about 7 years ago, about when my stepson, his now ex-wife and kids moved in...that took some more offerings because not only did we not like her, but the elves/local spirits didn't either...

Not forced, but privileged. Actually, my biggest concern was with what I call "dark entities" trying to get through or harming her. However, from what I've seen she has protecting entities on the "other side". I know this all seems like a load of Hollywood nonsense, but I am very pragmatic and try to reason out what I've been exposed to. She, btw, just takes it for granted because shes had this ability since childhood. I jokingly call myself her "Tonto" because I try to put all the information into terms for the average layman.

I was just thinking about how mundane this has actually become. If I get a weird feeling anymore I just ask her if we have "visitors"? She'll just give that smile and goes about her business.

I might try that next time it happens.

I have a short temper and was beyond pissed off at the feeling. I admit I do walk around with incense and flame, even sage. I know there's a specific ritual for sage, but I hoped that once the word got out I'm a devotee of Narasimha and Kali, we'd be left alone. :D

Yes, I have. I've had a deceased relative visit me in a dream and I know it wasn't something my mind made up. We had a rocky relationship and he was obviously trying to make amends and say goodbye before he moved on. I felt good after it and no longer have negative feelings towards himm There's other things, too.
Thank you for sharing your experience!

I know I and others believe you, and I appreciate your honesty in stating it was through a dream...but the very fact of it being in “a dream”, would give the skeptics on here, reason to doubt it coming from an external source.

And the purpose behind this thread, is to reveal to these skeptics, that there are invisible intelligent entities, they are real. Even though there is no scientifically approved way to detect such life.

(EMF meters are considered pseudoscience.)

I hope you’re coping well, with the issues you’ve been facing!

Peace to you, my cousin!

Well, of course not...but I might try to invoke my favorite terrifying ally, only to be surprised to find whoever was bothering me had some other terrifying ally on their side that could sideline mine...or even worse, try to invoke my 'ally' only to find out it was my 'ally' causing me the problems in the first place...perhaps because he/she/it/them have other responsibilities of higher import than my alliance with them...

A friend once said, "You don't want to mess with something that cannot die, and that can follow your soul after you do..."

Have I spoke to "spirit" entities? Yes, at the time they seemed real enough.

Do I now believe they are real, no. I believe the unconscious mind is capable of creating an apparently autonomous entity that we can interact with and can seem quite real to us.

In fact some other poster link to a web site to teach people how to create such an entity.

If someone has enough desire/faith/belief, I think the unconscious mind can pick up on this and create a "spiritual" experience for you.

Does this prove no spiritual beings exist? No, but I have to question, how could we know the difference whether the source of our experience was internal or external?

The website your talking about is right here: Question for all religions on here about a website I found on the internet

If the Moderators want to move this thread, that’s fine; I honestly didn’t know in which Forum to pose this question. Paranormal, maybe? But I wanted to include those who have contact with their religious gods.

I am curious, though...

Myself, I believe that spirit entities exist, taking many forms such as dead ancestors, guides, or even gods. And other forms.

How many posters here on RF, carry on two-way conversations with these spirits? How many have just seen them, w/ no further contact?

Are any here, afraid of the contact they experience, because it’s unwanted?
The most extraordinary supernatural effect I ever encountered was overnighting in transit back in my student days, a large old house full of students and slated for demolition. It was early on a hot summer morning; everyone else had gone off to class or work and I was waiting for my lift. As I stood under the stairs (where the phone was), someone walked across the floor upstairs and ran lightly down the stairs. Slightly surprised, I stepped out to see who it was, and the footsteps ran down the stairs past my nose with no one there. My hair stood on end and I was out in the sunlight in zero seconds.

In fact it's a known phenomenon with a straightforward explanation, but I didn't find that out till years later. (Morning, the old house warms, parts expand, shifting the frame of the staircase and springing the steps in sequence.)

We skeptics are always relieved to find explanations, of course.

But the real test of whether one is communicating with the dead, or with a guide or intermediary or familiar or whatever, is whether one acquires new information. The same is true, and very closely parallel, to ESP claims of clairvoyance, OBEs, premonitions, and so on.

For instance, the only person I've spoken to who's had an NDE is the cousin of a good friend of mine; it happened when he crashlanded his plane and was seriously hurt. It came complete with tunnel, light, welcome, and deciding to turn back. He had the sense that his deceased parents and maybe other deceased family members were present but if so, none of them actually conveyed new information to him ─ what we might call the 'grandpa's will stays lost' scenario.

None of that means that what people have written here is untrue. But without evidence ─ in particular new remote information ─ as a skeptic I don't have much reason to think it's an accurate report about reality.

I agree it is a reasonable explanation, but...for the sake of argument...did you or anyone make the multiple observations needed (not just correlation in time and condition of a pattern of sounds...but measurements of the house actually expanding and contracting in response to humidity, temperature, winds, and air pressure (and other potential confounding conditions) with the simultaneous generation of sound...in other words, was the hypothesis actually tested rigorously?

Don't misunderstand: I'm almost completely sure you are correct...but it sometimes appears that potential explanations are offered and then NOT tested. And then others often do not even try to formulate alternative hypotheses that could be tested...

I think the explanation fits the house very well. It was a very large old house, once a 19th century city mansion. I stayed there overnight by arrangement with a friend who was studying at the local university while working for a corporation there. All the adjacent houses had been leveled for a big redevelopment, and the long back wall had been a common wall with an adjacent house, by then demolished but not yet replaced, The long wall had a disturbing bow in it, reinforced by large S-shaped metal pieces bolted into the brickwork, The upstairs outside balcony was unusable because the floor had gone, and the downstairs front living room was unusable because of sagging plaster, But the kitchen and plumbing worked and the many rooms made it great (cheap) student accommodation. As well, it happened about 8.30 am, a summer morning and outside it was already getting steamy-humid with a hot day to follow. So I think there's evidence to support the idea that the stairs sprang because the outside walls were getting hot and expanding. The shift doesn't have to be great to trigger the effect; it's a readjustment of stresses within the structure of the stairs.

Or so I like to think. As to your question about investigation, no, my lift arrived after I'd been outside with my bag for about ten minutes with no particular appetite to go back inside, and we set off straight away for our home city, as planned. One other thing ─ a couple of years later I had a beer with the friend who'd arranged my doss, and he said the house (by then demolished) had a zero reputation for being haunted. At that stage I hadn't come across the sprung-stairs explanation.

Yes, I agree your suggestion is highly likely to be the right one, even without the confirming tests...

but let me give you one: we built an addition onto our berm home 15 years ago. It's two stories tall, and while well built, it makes a number of noises that are pretty clearly related to wind, heating and cooling, etc. Our indoor cat was still a kitten when it was completed, and there was a set of noises that she made which were quite distinct from the house noises...or the noises of mice in the walls and floors, squirrels and birds on roof, and so on. Particularly, when she jumped out of the window or off the table or ledge onto the floor, there was a very distinct thump...usually followed by the sound of her coming down the stairs, which was also very distinct.

We had to put her down last winter because of infirmity related to her considerable age and health issues she'd endured.

Several times a week at least, we hear the distinctive thump of her jumping down. A few times, it's been followed by sound of her padding down the stairs, or the faint sound and sensation of her jumping onto one of the recliners if we're sitting in those, or onto the bed if we're there.

I can imagine a number of ways of testing this, but I have neither the resources nor the inclination to do so. I'm much happier accepting that our kitty remains with us in spirit, knowing full well that others will not accept my tale without evidence...I share here only to illustrate the principle that someone may have experiences that are interpreted as presence and interaction with spirit, and such experiences may not seem to lend themselves to mundane explanations...

Just curious...when you had those intense feelings of "offness", were your dogs around? If so, how did they react?

They were probably in the bedroom, they weren’t with me. I was in the living/dining room area both times. My male is a bit of a coward and hides anyway. My female is more outgoing and fearless.
