If the Moderators want to move this thread, that’s fine; I honestly didn’t know in which Forum to pose this question. Paranormal, maybe? But I wanted to include those who have contact with their religious gods.

I am curious, though...

Myself, I believe that spirit entities exist, taking many forms such as dead ancestors, guides, or even gods. And other forms.

How many posters here on RF, carry on two-way conversations with these spirits? How many have just seen them, w/ no further contact?

Are any here, afraid of the contact they experience, because it’s unwanted?

I try not to. They find receptive people. I must be one.

I also don't like talking about this.

But yes, I have

Does this count?

Back in 2015, I arrived in Placerville the day after my father passed away peacefully at the ripe old age of 92.
The next day, after my arrival, I made arrangements with the funeral home to go and "view" my father's body prior to his funeral.
Just me and my father's body ...
He was laid out in the Home's chapel, covered up to the neck by a silken, purple robe.
Standing there, with brief memories of some 45+/- years flashing through my mind, I thanked him for bringing me into the family.
I swear I heard his voice, saying: "I'm not there". And I said: "Well, what am I doing here?"
And I heard his voice say: "I don't know."
So, I turned around and left.

Every time I think of this, I think of The Shinning. Our family always called it "the shinnin'" My brother and mother has it the most. My mother says she has seen spirits (and her boyfriend/my father and the real estate lady). My father thought my mother was cheating on him. The real estate lady thought if we "hid another person" we didn't put on the lease. When my mother explained it nonchalantly "oh, that's the spirit upstairs," so far I was told she ran off the property. I wonder if the house was even sold.

My brother has it. My mother laughs cause she talks to spirits everyday etc. My brother, well, he tried to take his life.

I have it to an extent but I never seen any spirits. Felt them, though. I talk with my aunt a lot.

I honestly don't know what people see when they say they see spirits. Mother said they look like everyone else. The guy with the blue jeans and white shirt (I think I saw) was probably the one that died in that house. He kept walking from the bed room to the bathroom.

Another time, something/one kept throwing rocks at my window but no one lived near us or anything and it was a private yard. I think the older I get, I'm more critical of my experiences. I do say thank you from time to time over experiences somewhere in the RF archives.

Have I spoke to "spirit" entities? Yes, at the time they seemed real enough.

Do I now believe they are real, no. I believe the unconscious mind is capable of creating an apparently autonomous entity that we can interact with and can seem quite real to us.

In fact some other poster link to a web site to teach people how to create such an entity.

If someone has enough desire/faith/belief, I think the unconscious mind can pick up on this and create a "spiritual" experience for you.

Does this prove no spiritual beings exist? No, but I have to question, how could we know the difference whether the source of our experience was internal or external?

Well, 'there' or not, he obviously heard you say something, so you got through in some way. ;)

now me, I believe that our spirits continue on after our physical deaths. I honestly don't think that many, if any, stick around to kibbitz with the rest of us. On the other hand, I wouldn't go run screaming into the night if one did. I might ask what in the world he/she was still DOING here, when s/he had somewhere else to go and something else to do, but then...????

I just don't worry about it all that much. I have talked TO those who have passed on; I talked to my husband after his death frequently. Still do, once in awhile; helps me clarify my thoughts and gives me someone to 'natter at,' myself. However, for me, at least, it's a very Shakespearean thing to do; you know"
"I can call spirits from the vasty deep"
"Why so can I, and so can any man, but do they come when you do call them?"

Haven't for me, and I believe that they are out there. I just think they all have better things to do.

Yes, I have. I've had a deceased relative visit me in a dream and I know it wasn't something my mind made up. We had a rocky relationship and he was obviously trying to make amends and say goodbye before he moved on. I felt good after it and no longer have negative feelings towards himm There's other things, too.

I live with one who talks to those who have passed at will. It's so pervasive that she had learned to how to tune out the "chatter". I do not have this gift(?), but having been with her on many occasions when she has let someone come through to comfort a grieving relative (in most cases she has just met the relative, so she has no pre-knowledge of the decease entity) has shaken any skepticism I may have had. I don't call myself a believer or disbeliever, I simply say I don't "not believe". BTW, don't get me started about the auras and orbs...

Yes, I remember you posting something similar on another thread.

To answer your last question...maybe when two people experience the same incident, together.

Not hear, but see/feel. It's hard to describe, but the closest would be a mix of those two senses.

Can happen anywere. Sometimes there are terrifying ones, sometimes they are on people's back or crawling behind them, like shadows.

I live with one. Know what that is, but not who... Had a few bad experiences with it, a few good ones... Still asked a trusted master about it, he told me there was no way to make this one go... Living with it is exhausting, sometimes. But well, I'm kinda stuck, so

I used to do it some years ago, But because it hindered my cultivation, I asked them not to contact me as often as they did. I was able to both see, hear and feel them at one point when the ability was at the strongest. But I do not seek this part of life anymore. For one who gains what is called clairvoyance, clear audio and able to feel "unseen" beings it is a very high responsibility both to the spirits, but also to the people who asked for help.

I would not say i am afraid of spirits, but i have seen enough to have full respect for them,

Alea iacta est

Pretend that I wrote something cool.
I have been encountered by them but can only see them in dreams. I can notice them but nowadays it's very rare I notice them. In very rare occasions I have been able to see them. Some years ago I found out that my sister saw the same entity in an apartment we lived in when we grew up. We had seen it independently from each other.

I decided many years ago to close myself from all this and since then it's very rare I notice anything. I kind of regret it now. I don't know how to open up myself again. But there have been several times I have been encountered by someone who claimed to be the Devil.

Most of the times it was when I was asleep but it also happened a few times when I was awake. This was also long time ago now. I was encountered by a spirit the other night. I was surprised but don't remember so many details. I don't live in my country so I can't remember if that spirit spoke my native language or not.

Thank you for your response.
I'm sorry to hear that you feel trapped...you're not the only one I've spoken with, that feels this way, believe me!

What if I told you that there was a more powerful Spirit, that only has your best interests at heart?

My sacred writing is the Bible, and it tells us at Proverbs 18:10 in many translations....

Young's Literal Translation
A tower of strength is the name of Jehovah, Into it the righteous runneth, and is set on high.

World English Bible
The name of Yahweh is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe.

Darby Bible Translation
The name of Jehovah is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe

New World Translation
The name of Jehovah is a strong tower.+
Into it the righteous one runs and receives protection.*

American Standard Version
The name of Jehovah is a strong tower; The righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
The name of Yahweh is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are protected.

("Yahweh" is Hebrew; "Jehovah" is English.)

Take care, I just wanted to help, so you wouldn't feel exhausted at times.

I didn't mean to come across as preaching, I just wanted to maybe help.

Best wishes, my cousin!

Vanakkam,

No worries, I understand it was from a good sentiment.

Feeling tired and exhausted is part of life, we all have to deal with it, whatever the source is ;)

Take care
