What was your religious education in public schools by State?

that is literally the theological arguments today. Did William the Conqueror bring Christ's government to England, and did their government services mainly include a Church for the poor and a monastery of education? So Peter denied Christ 3 times, and you find that interesting. There's literally a Class you Had been given by the Government School on education, which is the Only thing I was looking for in the thread, and you lied about it, because of your feeling on it.
Lied about it? I did say there were religious classes when I went to school, but they did not teach me anything, because they did not know religious the way they should. I knew more than my teachers when I was 15 years old.Is that to tell lies

OK I'm not trying for a personal indictment, but the point of the thread is what are governments and their relation to religious education regionally . I bet people in Korea are taught a Buddhist here or there, I didn't get any. Sounds like Norway tries to have a textbook with Religion. That's all the State can do, nobody wants to know your teachers. Nice to talk about yourself if you want, that's fine.

The state dont give a S.....it about religion, they want it to be as atheistic as possible. So no i am not a supporter of state dictated religion.
Much better to learn in each religious community where people actually know and understand what is important in each religion.

How should I speak for governmental thoughts or other peoples thoughts when I am none of them

You are purposefully overreacting, correct? Because I have to repeat, the purpose of the thread is Education in Religion from the Public Schools. Public Schools aren't in the business of telling you a rigid belief system in Nazi Germany. OK Maybe in Nazi Germany the kids are pushed through a rigid belief system. I heard they measured Einstein's head for Jewishness in front of class. Anyway.... ? …. "State dictated Religion" would be such a far leap from the topic that I feel dismissed again.

In France , they would, they have the French Revolution brought about the "Laicite", which pushes religion to only be a private matter in all cases, and any appearance of Crosses, any appearance of headscarves, is totally controversial, I guess you are dressed in your privateclothes and your pajamas! That's just my logical conclusion. Obviously the Religious Forums EXISTS in a worldview where the woman with the headcover and the woman with the cross necklace meet and they go blah blah blah at each other, oh that's interesting. I think we learned Joan of Arc in school. Ya, well that's common culture around anyway. Joan of Arcadia, that was fun.

And i can repeate, Religion has nothing to do in public schools, state-driven or private schools.
Only religious communities should teach religion.
I don't mind anyone who wears a cross, hijab or other religious items of clothing. But no state-educated teacher should teach religion to kids. that is only the Priests, Monks, Pastors, and so on together with the parents who can do.

You are positively telling schools to keep children ignorant, monster. What are you talking about? Look, I just tried to make this clear. Education is explaining topics to the children. Do you put bans on it like Catcher in The Rye, pornography, and excessive gore and violence?

Its so unimportant, all religious moral thought or, Specific, that no private school or public school is going to touch the "EXCELLENT" … (instruction) from some sort of voluntary religious study class at a Church.

Schools can teach math, history, geography, science, but not religion.
Schools are politically driven, and religion and politics should not be mixed.

When i get kids they will not be able to watch porn, voiance and war movies until they are old enough to know it is to no use for humans to watch it, then they will make the choice freely to not watch it .

With the implication that no Religions were ever of use to humans. Tennis Class!...?

Schools literally teach politics. When they weren't teaching politics, we hit oru heads on a desk with 5 reruns of "Schoolhouse Rock".

I have had to work out an outline in my own mind from the blanks of what you're talking about to conclude that, you lied that Norway does have Education in religion, math, history, etc, because your personal belief, is that religion is not education, it is there to control the masses. I generally understand that 60's sort of concept, correct?

Not correct.
Religion in schools are not good enough. only a religious community like Church, monastery, mosques, are qualified to teach religion.
The state can teach science, and so on.

They should not be mixed, that is my message.

OK By the way, thanks for your survey type answers. This reminds me of a few episodes on KBC "Return of Superman", why would they go to a Buddhist Monastary for their kids to learn Buddhism? That's ridiculous. Could you imagine a TV show pushing a Church.

If a family are Buddhists, they go to the monastery, not a church
If a family are muslims they go to the Mosque

*edit hm K let me back up, edit, directly , doesn't seem to be working for France, is it, that this controversy got worldwide attention. They should "Educate" Muslim tolerance. no? France is essentially in your camp although I'm sure you were too busy for that section. That's what Laicite means. Buddhists should teach it at home. Muslims and Catholics learn from home and not the state. Now we're al wondering how France is intolerant of Muslims, and, Arabs.

The trend has been to see how much of that we can label 'civil ceremony'. Lets not interrupt people honoring family members. How many things did the Church allow in Buddhist countries, do all the King's ceremonies. You can't go to a Church after the monastery, that's your own problem. Don't cut down family trees. What they ended up wanting to do was go in the monastery and say, see this empty tomb, there is no moral force, we need a new reforming moral force, we are ready for. These men are just here to be fed. There is a Highest God to be above any other, buddhist idols get attacked sometimes in extremists. Recognizing the Holy institution of Marriage such as with Queen and King. People claim that to be syncretism think Christians were there to gain understanding? A Confucian puts on a Christian, there are men to learn from, and the result today was a syncretist mix of human understandings, against the Divine inalterable.

Queen Myeonseong once made a sort of vague royal type comment considering insecurity for the country, 'she wished they could visit this heaven'.

"they want it to be as atheistic as possible"

Knowingly or unknowingly they are, it seems, biased in favor of Atheism to keep the children ignorant about religions. Right, please?

I live in Belgium.
Not sure how it is today, but back in my day when I attended public school, there wasn't ANY religious class.

If parents of kids attending public school wanted their kids to get religious classes, they were free to do that on their own time, wherever they pleased and pay for it themselves.

As it should be, imo.

Public school in a secular society has no business teaching any religion.

And that is biased against religion. Right, please?

My point is that the students get equal access/information to the religions of believers as also to the non-believers be they Atheism/Agnosticism/Skepticism or any shades of them. Right, please?

"The majority of American adults (71%) identify as Christians. And among Christians, those with higher levels of education appear to be just as religious as those with less schooling, on average. In fact, highly educated Christians are more likely than less-educated Christians to say they are weekly churchgoers."

"Indeed, fully three-quarters of college graduates are affiliated with some religion (including 11% who say they are adherents of non-Christian faiths like Judaism, Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism), as are 76% of those with some college experience and 78% of those whose education topped out with high school."
