That was fun to watch. Thanks. Assuming the video's reasonable approximation to reality, we "can tell" who the breeders are among believers. Would have been interesting to slow the pace and have a list of significant events and geographical locations where increases and decreases have taken place.
What this doesn't show is the world population growth in the same period from 1952 which was around 2,631,000,000
Now its about 7,731,000,000
So in real terms, despite the animation, religion is decreasing
Have you made some calculations on percentages to make that claim? Im just asking because I haven't and id be interested to see that.
No just numbers. The population has increased by over 5 billion. I assume the animation to be reasonably accurate,. It does not keep up with population growth.
Individual religions are for the most part going the same way, the only one beating the trend is islam.
You could also Google it, which confirms my claim.
These numbers are from Pew research bro. And if you download a dataset you can all of those calculations.
I think you are right anyway.
There is no category for non-belief in the chart. It would be very interesting to see how that has changed over time also.
Cheers sis, i have done them in the past on another (now defunct forum). My life has changed since then and i really have no time or the inclination to do an update, i am quite happy with the raw data.

This is really startling to watch the data change over time!
I wasn't sure where to post this, so I posted it in general religious debates.
Sobering data. To think that there were less than 80 million Muslims just a few decades ago.
In a very real sense, most of Islaam is living right now.
Also, this video reminds me of how wild demographic growth has been. No wonder that it has become so difficult to reach political understanding in most situations.
When I said data set, it IS the raw data.
Anyway great. BTW, I am no sis. I am bro. I normally call ladies "brother" and get embarrassed but this is a first.
Cheers.
Fun to watch but we are not in the race.
