You're lucky. We're so far north. Raspberries and rhubarb do well here though. How do you make your kefir? I'm a fan of it.
You can get the grains online, with instructions, but there are different kinds out there. The simplest is to get the non-reusable kefir culture, and then you have the reusable grains that you basically strain out each time. I probably could write a bunch about this topic, but this little kefir fermenter jar made it a lot easier for me to do it. Before I did it in a plastic container.

And I have a couple of glass milk-bottles that I clean out and reuse by pouring the finished kefir in there, so I have 3-4 bottles in the fridge, like a buffer.

Some notes, if you let it sit out and ferment too long, it gets extremely sour. Best is to just ferment over one night until it gets thick, and then I put the jar in the fridge for a few days before I bottle it and start the next culture.

And regarding the rhubarb. I was growing one plant years ago, but I killed it, or the heat did. Started them up again this year and they have a bit more shade. All of them still alive, but I'm replanting them in fall probably in their permanent spot.
